Welcome

On changing the world together

“Let’s change. You. Us. The world. In my
opinion, the THUAS slogan has more meaning
now than ever before. The pandemic clearly
illustrates that it’s time to step up, work
together and take our responsibility on a
global scale. Our curricula are built on those
values, so we’re delighted to welcome every
student that aligns with them. Studying at
THUAS is more than just learning how to
be good at your chosen profession. It’s
about becoming part of a movement of
internationally orientated professionals that
can solve major, real-life problems together.
We’re very excited to have you on that team!
As we find our way into the new normal,
we’ll mainly be connecting with you through
screens for a little while longer. But we’re very
much looking forward to seeing all your happy
faces in real life, and working together on great
things. Hope to see you soon.”

There are two types of universities in the Netherlands - traditional The Hague Delft
research universities (WO) and universities of applied sciences Zoetermeer SpZouridtsecrpaamrpkus
(HBO). Both offer bachelor’s and master’s programmes, but vary in
their teaching methods. Instagram accounts to follow
@thehagueuniversity
HBO universities, like THUAS, put the emphasis on practical tuition @sat_hhs
and focus on your future career. You’ll learn by working on ‘real life’ @thisisthehague
projects in close cooperation with the outside world. @interaccessnl

At a HBO university such as THUAS, you will do a compulsory
internship or work placement to apply the theory you have learned
into practice.

We focus on training and career preparation and work closely with
professionals to make sure that our programmes are cutting edge and
industry relevant. Businesses and institutions help design our curricula,
which means they are hands-on, solution based and market ready. Our
lecturers are working professionals, who’ll give you first-hand insight
into their field.

WO universities tend to run more theory and research-based courses
and students attend larger lectures and work independently. HBOs have
a more personal approach with smaller classes.

Please note: A THUAS bachelor will not necessarily qualify you for a master at
a WO university in the Netherlands - you may need to take additional courses.
