Hello, my name is Shylee Emigh and for the past five years I have been a dancer here at The
Dance Corner. I am very grateful for the people who helped me fulfill my dream of doing
this. I would like to thank my friends and family who have supported me throughout all my
years of dance. I have made many friends because of dance and for that I am forever grateful.
Dance has helped me meet a variety of different people and some of my closest friends. Some
of my favorite things to do outside of the studio is chorus, camping, hiking, and hanging
out with my friends. I am a twin to my brother Liam who is older than me by one minute
and I have four border collies named Butch, Cassidy, The Sun Dance Kid (we call her Sunny),
and Morgan. I also have two horses named T-fer and Darwin. Dance has always been an
important part of my life because it is many things; it’s competitive, it’s art, it’s expression,
and it’s anything you want it to be in that moment and it has helped me learn about myself
as well as others. As of now, my goals in life are to do well in school and work to make
myself better at something every day whether it be dance, chorus, or anything I would like
to improve upon. When I get older, I would like to continue my learning of dance and would
also like to try to become a lawyer. If I had to give any advice to the dancers at this studio,
I would say, don’t give up just because something is hard. In fact, try harder because it will
make the reward feel even better. Ambition, perseverance, enthusiasm, and cleverness is the
key to success with many things. Have an amazing summer dancers! I can’t wait to dance
with you again when classes start back up!
