A Shaggy Dog Story

Did you know that for about a quarter of
separating couples, their dog is the most important
consideration? After all, who else provides you with
such devoted, uncompromising love and attention
other than your canine companion?
It is possible that your dog picks up the vibes
that something is not right between the two of
you while you are separating and may become
unhappy. So, although the Court will see your dog
as an object, remember that your best friend has
feelings too, so why not try to come to a decision
between yourselves. For example, does one of
you work more dog-friendly hours, or is one of you
going to move to somewhere that you cannot take
your dog. Have a think about the logistics of caring
for your dog after you have separated.
Unfortunately for us dog-lovers, when it comes to separation, dogs are treated in the same way as cars
and other personal possessions. If you cannot decide who will look after your beloved pet on a day-to-
day basis, the Court can make a decision for you including who will pay for the upkeep, i.e. feeding,
vets bills etc. The Court cannot, however, make any decisions about contact between you and your dog
as, to the Court, it is treated as a possession. Have a think about in whose name is your pet registered
at the vets, whose name is registered on the microchip and insurance certificate and who generally
looks after your dog on a daily basis. That should provide you with sufficient information as to who the
main carer is.

The best fun I've had in absolutely years!
I took my two sons, aged 13 and 18 years old, for what I thought would be a fun birthday treat out for my youngest,
trying out driving tanks... that sort of thing. BUT, it was so much, much more than that! Right from the off, there was
energy, fun and excitement in the air... drivers are camou'd up, everyone is made to feel special and your day begins.
Hurtling around in monster tanks, up and down seriously deep ruts had me whooping with joy, and I couldn't wait to
see my sons faces - I was not disappointed.
And if that wasn't enough - they have an armoury too - where you get to strip down a gun and rebuild it - all
for fun! I found it an enormously bonding experience with my boys, a day full of memories (and pictures) that I
shall never forget.
