ABOUT PETERHOF
IN RUSSIA
The palace has a large garden of fountains.
Unfortunately when we went there the fountain was not
running. Apparently the fountain is only turned on in
summer. Maybe if the fountain was running it would be
more beautiful. The palace garden overlooks the Baltic sea.
As the name implies, this palace was built in the era of Tsar
Peter the great (Peter the great). One of the illustrious
tsars. The building is similar to other palaces in St
Petersburg such as the Catherine Palace and the
Hermitage. The Baroque style architecture is similar to the palace of Versailles in France.
Nicknamed the "Russian Versailles", the main feature of this magnificent royal palace
(summer residence) is a beautiful fountain, which is open from Spring until the first half of October.
You can even rent an electric car to tour the park; watch out for people dressed in royalty, they ask
you for photos for money. The Peterhof palace complex was originally built during the reign of Peter
the Great, the founder of the city of St Petersburg. This palace complex can be reached by city bus
from the city center. One of the most charming attractions is the fountain garden in front of the
palace which is only open in summer.
This summer palace is one of the most beautiful
palaces with a garden that is also very arranged
extraordinarily. The palace has now been converted into
a museum. The care of the museum is extraordinary. To
enter the museum, visitors must also leave all cameras
and cellphones in the storage room. In addition, the floor
is also very well cared for, so that to enter all visitors'
shoes must be covered with special mats provided. This
museum was once the resting place of the Tsars and Queens. Each room was designed according to
the tastes and characteristics of each Tsar's wishes. Inside is shown the king's dining room, bedroom,
dressing room and boudoir which are all exquisitely designed with gold plating. For the renovation
so that the museum is exactly the same as the original, the wallpaper and various ornaments cost a
lot of money. The result, of course, is that the luxury of the past is still
reflected in every detail of the rooms in the Peterhof palace.
The State Peterhof Museum is located in
and around Peterhof Palace, where you can see
many fountains, aqueducts, gardens and views of
the sea. Located in Peterhof, a city near Saint
Petersburg. In fact, you can spend the whole day in
the full complex to visit everything: the beautiful
palace inner rooms such as the main staircase, the
Imperial chambers or the Official chambers. The
fountain located in front of the main entrance of the
palace is fantastic (unfortunately, we came here in
November-2018 and they were closed), and the gardens have many paths, where you can walk, run,
play with the kids, relax and have a wonderful view of the sea, palace or surroundings (sadly, in
November (almost) all the buildings in the park are also closed). Great visit, where you can see the
luxury of the tzars. A top!
