Musical Landscapes | October 3, 4:00 p.m.

Devin Patrick Hughes, conductor
The season will open with a musical journey inspired by American
landscapes and culture when the Symphony performs Dvořák’s magnificent
New World Symphony, featuring one of the most beautiful melodies in all of
classical music. The audience will also experience Victor Herbert’s rousing
American Fantasia and Bruch’s soul-stirring Scottish Fantasy.

Give Birth to the Dream | November 7, 4:00 p.m.

Mélisse Brunet, conductor
Join us for an afternoon of music that celebrates resilience and brings hope.
Highlights include Tower’s work celebrating adventurous women and White’s
inspiring tone poem based on Maya Angelou’s “On the Pulse of Morning.”
The concert will conclude with Beethoven’s thrilling and celebratory
Symphony No. 7.

Christmas Festival | Dec. 11, 7:00 p.m. & Dec. 12, 4:00 p.m.

Experience the joy and wonder of the season with song and dance from
the Symphony, Iron Street Dance Company, Tamara Howe School of Dance,
Salina Chorale, Kansas Wesleyan University Chorale and Salina Youth Choir.

Take Flight | January 30, 4:00 p.m.

Yaniv Segal, conductor
Soar through the concert hall with the Salina Symphony and majestic music
about birds in motion. From a shimmering new work by a young composer
that celebrates the legend of the phoenix to the timeless charm of Haydn’s
First Cello Concerto and memorable swan songs of Sibelius’ Fifth Symphony,
this concert is sure to uplift and inspire.

Melodic Journey | March 27, 4:00 p.m.

Yaniv Attar, conductor
Enjoy an afternoon of music rich with the infectious rhythms of Danzón No. 2
by Márquez and the triumphant melodies of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.
The Symphony will also feature a guitar soloist for the first time when Daniel
Bolshoy presents Joaquin Rodrigo’s soulful and poetic Concerto de Aranjuez.

Symphonic Dances | May 1, 4:00 p.m.

Vlad Vizireanu, conductor
The season will close with a celebration of movement, melding the driving
rhythms of techno with balletic impulse and symphonic grandeur. This
thrilling concert will feature Tchaikovsky’s passionate and exhilarating Piano
Concerto No. 1 and Rachmaninoff’s dynamic Symphonic Dances.

1928 Ward Marshall, Clay Center school teacher opens
dealership as Willy’s (Jeep) Whippet-Overland distributor.
1933 Chrysler-Plymouth distributorship started, grows to
Chrysler-Dodge-Ram-Jeep-Nissan.
Ward’s dealership prospered over the years, allowing the
dealership and its employees to be significant contributors to
the Salina community. That tradition continues today through
Ward’s grandson, Larry.
