2 PETER TAYLOR

The main reason I vividly recall our game at Turf Moor on April Fool’s
Day 1978 was the fact that the reporter sitting next to me in the Press
Box had a portable TV in his bag and was secretly watching the Grand
National ‘live’ during the game!

There were few about in those days and it was the first I had seen.
Yet it was like a long oblong tube, ideally shaped for his duffle bag, with
a tiny mono screen. As Lucius nicked it on the line, there were more
eyes on that bag than on the pitch!

It wasn’t a great day. I lost my hard-earned at the eighth fence while
our promotion hopes were dented by a 2-1 defeat. Peter Taylor opened
the scoring for us but Billy Ingham and Peter Noble won it for Burnley.

And to complete the occasion, I was travelling home on a
supporters’ club coach which broke down at Luton when the electrics
failed! Remember that?

Bobby Smith, who played his last Spurs game in a 7-2 defeat at

The Clarets were the defending champions when we won the

Coulston, who was head groundsman at our Cheshunt training ground in the 80s, wife to Teresa for nearly 50
years and father to Claire and Lindsey, lost his 15-year battle against Parkinson’s Disease on 23 November,
aged 68. He played for Spurs Juniors and professionally for Birmingham City and was later grounds manager
at what is now our training ground in Enfield. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Sylvia Ann Evans, who had been a club member for over 20 years, sadly passed away in October at the age of
78. She will be deeply missed by husband Terry and all her family and friends.
Raymond Stanley Hudson, who sadly passed away on 2 November, aged 99.  A lifelong Spurs fan through
nine decades, his favourite player was Jimmy Greaves and his favourite team was the famous ‘Double’ side of
1960/61. He maintained his love of Spurs, his family and his sense of humour until the end.

We would like to extend our condolences to their families and friends at this sad time.

Q&A 82
Continuing our new Q&A feature for this season – using the year of
the Club’s formation as inspiration – as we ask our players to choose
18 lifestyle questions from a selection of 82. Today, last weekend’s
goalscoring star Moussa Sissoko is in the hotseat…

1 How do you like your eggs?
Moussa: “Fried, with a runny yoke.”
2 What keeps you going through the tough times?
Moussa: “I always take a step back and think that I have
a great job, my family and friends, everything is perfect.
I just look at the bigger picture.”
3 What is your signature dish?
Moussa: “The easy thing for me would be pasta, maybe
with salmon, a little cream. I make that one well.”
4 Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
Moussa: “There are two players – Patrick Vieira and
Mahamadou Diarra, who was at Lyon, Real Madrid
and then Fulham. They played in the same position
and were two idols for me. I wanted to be like them.”

any of your team-mates?

Moussa: “I would ask them all ‘what would you be if you
weren’t a footballer?”

8 What reminds you of home?

Moussa: “Having good times with my family, spending time
together, maybe celebrating a birthday, thinking about
where I grew up in Paris. These are the best moments.”

9 Do you have a guilty pleasure?

Moussa: “Everyone has something! For me, some sweets 16 Describe the way you dance? P a g eQ &TAi t l e

two weeks, but I’ll eat one, then another, then another and
at the end of the day the packet has gone!”

10 What advice would you give to your 16-year-
old self?

Moussa: “I would say, I’m happy with what you have done
for the moment, your dream is to become a footballer,
so keep going down that path. You are in a good way.
Keep believing, keep going, keep following your dream.”

11 What was the last film you watched?

Moussa: “I’ve seen it a few times, Colombiana.”

17 What is the first thing you normally do
in the morning?

Moussa: “I wake up and I go to see my daughter, Maliya.”

12 What did you want to do when you were 18 When was the last time you cried?
growing up? Moussa: “You know what, no-one saw me, but it was after
the Champions League Final.”
Moussa: “That’s an easy one – to be a footballer.”
