“I WAS DELIGHTED FOR THE PLAYERS

Good afternoon and welcome back to the players who haven’t been here for as long as the

I was delighted for the players and staff after 5
the Manchester City game – an historic night
for so many reasons. Our first game on Sky
Sports, a first win against top four opposition
in the Club’s history and ending City’s 33-game
unbeaten home run. Everyone has worked really
hard in pre-season, and we probably didn’t give
the best account of ourselves in the Birmingham
game, so we wanted to go out there and put on
a performance that the players knew they were
capable of.

We showed a different side to our game and
dug deep to get the result. To compete against
the top teams in this league, we will have to show
that resilience time and time again this year, but I
was so pleased to see that type of character early
in the season. I couldn’t have asked for anymore
from the players. I hope we continue to give you
nights to remember that make you proud of the
team and what we’re building here.

Going into the international break on a high

A MEMORABLE
NIGHT…

Our win against Manchester City was an historic night for many reasons; the
first win in the Club’s history against established top four opposition ended
City’s 33-game unbeaten home streak which had stood since 2019 and it was
our first game live on Sky Sports. On a personal note, it was also memorable
night for defender, Kerys Harrop, who is one of only a handful of players in the
league’s history to have made 150 WSL appearances. After the celebrations
subsided, we caught up with the 30-year-old to reflect on her career so far.
