“THE CUT OF MEN’S CLOTHES 1600-1900”

The book covers a massive informations and visuals of the
actual clothing patterns for Men’s during the 1600’s - 1900’s.
A lot of the Men’s clothing were inspired from the Spain. The
Spanish were more conservative and it shows by how Spanish
dress themselves. For example, the ruffles around the neck
and the Spanish farthingale. Length of the Spanish mantilla
ware by women shows the social status of the woman.

MEN’S SHOES

Another focus for men’s shoes in general is the
shift from rounded toes to a very square shape.
This is a major change and some men are already
ahead of the game. Be sure to head to your local
shoemaker and ask for the square toe as soon as
possible to keep up with the times.

Men’s footwear are gaining popularity as shoe makers JACKBOOT
are becoming more skilled. Heels are becoming all the
rage for men as they add a little bit of extra height and 10
superiority. Heels are being done on both shoes and
boots.Slap soles, which are shoes or boots that have a
flat sole attached at the front of the shoe and unattached
at the heel. Shoe makers are creating them so that the
man’s heels won’t sink into soft ground when they are
walking around outside. The down side of them is that
they are incredibly loud and make a slapping noise when
a man takes a step. That is why we're calling them ‘slap
soles’. Although, they are practical, they are extremely
annoying and we sincerely hope that shoemakers move
on from this trend. Boots are also having a moment as
shoemakers are now designing them to come extend over

the knee. They are doing this so that they can meet the

breaches. However, they are still only being worn for

riding and bad weather.

COTTON’S MOMENT

Inventors have been working overtime lately.
They are always t rying to find new and inn-
ovative ways to produce textiles so that they
are more rapidly available for purchase. Steam
and water are now being used to power these
newly invented machines as technology advances.
Cotton is really benefitting from these new
inventions. It is starting to become more common
among towns and people. This means that prices
are really starting to drop for cotton. For people
who don’t have as much money this is good news.
Cotton is becoming more common and affordable
so be sure to check your local merchants for cotton
clothing. Cotton is also becoming more fashionable.
Due to the wide spread of cotton, it is becoming a
fashion trend. It is often printed with some sort of
floral design that is becoming a signature of the
high quality, low cost cotton.
