On 9th July 2015 Bev rang the bell accompanied by her whole family who were there to
support the fantastic achievements of their very special lady. Bev would be the first to
contradict that description of her,

“It’s just me, I’ve just got on with it. It’s surreal because it’s felt like someone else -
but it’s just me.”

The future looks bright and cancer free for Bev who remains under the care of NMGH
for regular mammograms. She urges her friends and family to carry out regular checks
and to be aware of how quickly and unsuspectingly this voracious disease can strike. It is
alarming to Bev and to those who know her locally to consider the number of similar
cases which have all occurred within a very close proximity. Bev would be interested to
hear from other people from Alkrington who have been given a recent diagnosis and
