LETTERS FROM THE COMMISSIONERS

Dear plebs,

Welcome to year two of our dynasty league. We had all offseason to make this year one of our second drafting
of our dynasty league, but nooooo, no one wanted to redraft despite the very valuable knowledge we all gained
from a year of gambles and mistakes made. It’s fine, I’m fine.

Hopefully, things are starting to click for you at this point. By now, I’m hoping that you see that not all first and
second round picks are created equal. I hope that you have a plan in mind for what to do with your team – are
you competing now, or rebuilding? Are you only a few pieces away from making a run, or will it take some time?
Can you sell off some younger pieces or draft picks for a seasoned veteran? Do you know what a taxi squad is?
Are you high right now? Do you ever get nervous?

State of the league

Trades - Recently, we’ve had a flurry of trades go through, and I love it. Nothing keeps a league fresher than
trades, even if it means that the value of a first round pick you got from Butcher will probably drop
considerably in value. Again, it’s fine, I’m fine. Some have been great, some have been puzzling, and some
have been questionable at best. Do your homework on these trades and ultimately, if you don’t like the trade,
don’t do it. Nothing sours a season more than a trade you didn’t want or one where you felt robbed.

Sometimes you do need to give up some value to secure a player or position you want or need, but always
make sure it’s something that you can be on board with. If you’re unsure, ask around. Look at online trade
calculators (although take their evaluations with a grain of salt), look for recent trades in online communities,
or trade value polls. It also helps to communicate how you value someone – are you selling Gordon at his peak
potential, or are you hoping to buy him at a discount because of the risk (even though there is no risk and he is
the greatest, don’t @ me).

Rule changes - As a heads up, I will likely be submitting a rule change proposal at the end of the season to
bump the roster and taxi squad by 1, if not a bit more for the active roster. If you hate this idea, we can bring it
up for discussion at some point, but I do think a few more spots will be very beneficial. Don’t forget that we
currently have 24 active roster spots, and 4 taxi squad spots that are worth using.

This year – I’m really pulling for Ethan to pull the repeat this year, or for Alan to swoop in with his quiet but
deadly team, or for Austin’s RBs to run through this league. Or anyone to win except a Carrico. We can’t have
that shit this early. Maybe a darkhorse Drew or Butch can break into that top 6? Remember that draft picks are
decided by PP for the bottom 6, least PP gets highest pick, then it’s playoff order, with champion getting the
last pick next year.

I can’t be as aggressive this year in my letter because my team shit the bed was ravaged by injuries and I sold
most of the valuable players off to embrace the rebuild approach, so you’re welcome for some free division
wins Stu and Slabaugh.

Happy year two,
Commissioner Reisdorf

LETTERS FROM THE COMMISSIONERS

Gentleman,
It’s hard to believe that we have traveled completely around the sun since the inception of this league.

First an official congratulations are in order for Miller Mayhem for winning our league’s inaugural season last
year. It seems like it was yesterday, it looked as if Ethan’s team didn’t have a chance of winning the league
and today he embarks this season staring down the possibility of a repeat. Its incredible how fast time has
elapsed and how short of time it takes to screw up a roster, just look at mine.
I’m ecstatic to see a number of things happen this season such as how rosters continue to shake up
throughout the season, how our coveted rookie picks will pan out, and whether or not Nick will finally
utilize the Taxi Squad. Either way, this season starts the progression of where teams see themselves during
the next five years and how teams set themselves up for success.
All bullshit aside, I am truly grateful to be a part a league, where legitimately every member is active, and
everyone seems to have some semblance of a game plan on how to succeed. This has made a great
experience for me personally and I truly look forward to every fantasy football season more because I am in
this league.
So best of luck to everyone. May your running backs be blessed with healthy knees, your receivers with
sticky fingers, tight ends with ample goal line targets, and quarterbacks not to play worse the Nathan
Peterman.
-Cheers
Joe

Everyone except for me is trash. Ethan got lucky. I plan to win this year. Good luck.
Sincerely,
Co-commissioner Bradley
Ps. Joe's team is extra trash and he should refrain from commenting on others' teams.

One-On-One With Ethan Miller

6

Stu Jackson: Let’s start from the beginning. Even in a PPR league,
going as heavy on wide receivers as you did early in the startup draft
was probably eye-opening to some. What influenced you to use that
strategy?
Ethan Miller: I went WR heavy in the start up draft because my thinking
was an elite WR will be worth holding on to for up to 5 years, whereas
an elite RB you'll be lucky to get 3 seasons. That and the practical reason
of I have to start 2 WR's every week coupled with it being a PPR league.
It just seemed like the logical way to go.

SJ: Submitting the perfect starting lineup remains almost impossible
despite the wealth of information available at our finger tips. What
wasn’t working for you the first five weeks of the regular season? Any
start/sit decisions you wished you could’ve had back?

EM: Anyone who says they don't second guess their starting lineup is
kidding themselves. You just play the matchups based on the week and
hope for the best. As for what wasn't working the first 5 weeks, it was a
combination of being in the toughest division (Gin Buckets) plus the
eventual #1 seed (Stu Jackson), and choosing the wrong defense. Week 3
hurts the most, because you never want to lose to Brad. It just leads to
him gloating and thinking he knows what he is doing. And who would
have thought one of the best defenses wouldn't even get a sack and let
the Jaguars put up 44 points? The week 4 loss to a less than full power
Drew Dowland hurt too.

Continued on next page...

7

SJ: How surprised were you by Mark Ingram’s late-season surge Miller’
despite increasing favoritism shown toward rookie Alvin Kamara in
the Saints’ offense? 1. Tom B

EM: Before the season I had read some articles that cited some crazy 2.

team. Something like 75%, so I wasn't all that surprised. Ingram always 3. Mark I
puts up solid numbers and by then they had traded Adrian Petersen. I
think there is room in a Drew Brees led offense for 2 productive RBs. Note: Miller won the title despite
points. Brady was his highest at
SJ: Was there extra satisfaction capturing the championship by
defeating the team that ended your 6-game win streak?
EM: Oh for sure. I was on a tear and hoping to finish up the regular
season on a high note and steal a first round bye. Then Brad pulls one
out of his ass and puts up almost 200 points (which led to a bunch of
gloating). That was the only team I lost twice last year, luckily when it
came to the game that counted I produced. In the words of Optimus
Prime: "One shall stand, one shall fall.”

SJ: How did you celebrate winning it all?
EM: I went to the atm and got out all 1's. I spread the 1's evenly over my
bed and rolled around in it naked. I was happier than a pig in slop.

SJ: Unless I’m mistaken, the only physical representation of your
championship victory in the inaugural season was the cash prize you
collected. What would you suggest for the first place trophy?

EM: You're right. There needs to be a statue erected in my honor or a
tribute. I don't have any good ideas at the moment of what should be
used as a trophy.  But something or someone should be erected in my
honor.

SJ: Who would you say is your biggest rival GM in this league?

EM: Bradley Carrico without a doubt. If he wasn't so cute I'd fight him.

SJ: What specific regular season matchup are you looking most
forward to for your franchise and why?
EM: Really looking forward to the Gin Bucket matchups this year. They
are always real slobber knockers.

SJ: What’s the key to a repeat?

EM: You gotta remember last year I was an early favorite but then had
some key injuries. So my team has to stay healthy and get through the
first 4 weeks (where I currently have 2 players who are suspended
thanks to PEDs).  Or maybe the key to repeating is having players who
are using PEDs?

All in all, really excited for this year because TY Hilton will have a top
tier QB throwing to him again, KA13 is primed for another big role with
Hunter Henry going down, Michael Thomas still has Drew Brees
slinging the rock, and a lot of my lesser known guys are healthy and
their competition is getting injured.

Unlike DW12’s startup draft in 2017, the No. 1 pick in the rookie draft wasn’t up
for debate - former Penn State All-American and current New York Giants
running back Saquon Barkley was the indisputable top overall choice. After an
underwhelming first season, GM Austin Slabaugh and his self-titled franchise

preseason expectations prior to the start of the inaugural season.

Arguably the most active owner off trades alone, TTP GM Andrew Carrico
completely changed the trajectory of his franchise with several deals around the
league. Although he had to part with Houston Texans wide receiver Deandre
Hopkins in the process, his receivers are much more balanced. The emergence of
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara boosted his backfield. Once
projected to finish at the bottom third of the league, TTP now has its sights set on a
top four finish, including five votes for first place in this year’s preseason poll.

picked up Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon’s handcuff in Giovani
Bernard. Thanks to a successful startup draft, Vandagriff had a solid foundation in

him to be held in such high regard early on and got a bargain on a Chicago Bears

eventual champion Miller Mayhem. Not satisfied with a result most owners would
be grateful for, Jackson chose to capitalize on Adam Thielen’s breakout season with
the Minnesota Vikings by sending him and a 2019 second round Rookie Draft pick

The question is simple - can Miller get through an entire 16-game campaign injury- BEHIND A REBUILD HERE. FEELS

Evan Chang

2017 Record 2018 Projection
3-9 | 12th 3-9 | 12th

Even though he finished in last place in 2017, GM Evan Chang and his self-titled
franchise opted to build through the draft and free agency rather than making a
blockbuster trade or two. The club experience rotten luck in year one losing three of
its top five players to injury, then traded away top tight end Greg Olsen. Chang
picked up multiple talented players early in the draft in Nyheim Hines, Christian
Kirk and Calvin Ridley, but expectations across the league remain the same with a
league-high seven owners projecting a last-place finish for the second straight year.

RUNNING BACKS A-

David Johnson is healthy again and
should finish as one of the top three
running backs in the NFL this season.
Tevin Coleman has a flex floor and an
RB2 ceiling thanks to his ability to make
the most of his touches. LeGarrette
Blount is Detroit’s goal-line back but
offers little PPR value. Not sure why
Jeremy Langford is still not the roster.
