The course is taught from a social and linguistic perspective. In this course, students will learn about the history and development of the English language, as well as the factors that have influenced the evolution of English in different regions. Students will also study the use of English in business communication, society and culture, the internet, and social media, among other topics. Students will also develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English at an advanced level, using examples from literature, speakers, advertisements, and media. The World Englishes course aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the linguistic and cultural diversity of English language usage worldwide, and to equip them with the skills necessary to communicate effectively in a globalized world Learning outcomes 1.
