Descriptive

Football is a game with 4 quarters. Each quarter is 15
minutes long. After the second quarter there is a
halftime which usually lasts for about 15 minutes. If
there is no score within the 4 quarters then the the
game goes to overtime. Then the first person to score a
touchdown wins. If a team scores a field goal instead of

a touchdown then the other team has a chance to tie or

win the game.

Sequence

In the beginning of a football game there is a coin toss.
After the coin toss the team that chose to have the ball
will be the receivers on the kickoff. Then the two teams
play until the end of the second half. Next after half
time the team that received the ball in the beginning of
the game kicks the ball off to the other team. Then they
play until the end of the fourth quarter and decide the
winner.

Compare/Contrast

Football and basketball are similar and different in
many ways. One way they are similar is that they both
use a ball. But unlike basketball, in football you don't
dribble the ball, you run with it. A football field is
very different to a basketball court. A football field is
100 yards long and 53 ⅓ yards wide while a basketball
court is 94 feet long and 50 feet wide. As you can see
football and basketball are similar and different in
many ways

Cause/Effect

In football there are many effects if you mess up.
For example, if a receiver drops a pass, the ball stays
where it was and if it was first down, it is now second
down. Or if a running back drops the ball when running,
it is a fumble. Then if the defence recovers the ball, it
is a turnover and the other team gets the ball. As you
can see there are many ways that you can mess up in
football.

Problem and solution

If you were running with the ball down the sideline
when playing football and all of the sudden out of
nowhere a defender smashes into your arm. Now you're
lying on the field with a broken arm. Since you have a
broken arm you have to go to the hospital and get an
X-ray and find the solution. Now after a few weeks your
arm is better and you can play again. You now know what
to do if you have that problem again. You also know how
to find a solution to a broken arm.
