Description :
Plumeria obtusa is a small tree, growing 3.0–4.6 m (10–15 ft) tall. Infrequently, individuals can grow to be 7.6 m
(25 ft). Its flowers are white with yellow throats and each has five petals. The fragrant flowers bloom in clusters.
Leaves are dark green, glossy, and up to 20 cm (8 in) long. They are obovate, or teardrop-shaped.

Habitat and distribution :
Found in India, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and New Guinea. In Thailand, it is found in all four
regions and planted as ornaments.

Ethnobotanical Uses :
In the Caribbean Islands, people use the bark as a diuretic. They also use the latex to stimulate purging. In many
islands in the Pacific, women can discreetly declare their marital status by placing a Plumeria flower on the right
ear if they are single or on the left if they are married. In Hawaii, the flowers are very popular and often placed in
floral leis.
