The Conference 7th International Case Study Conference (ICSC) 2022

Institute for Management and Business Research (IMBRe),
Universiti Utara Malaysia takes great pleasure in announcing
the 7th International Case Study Conference (ICSC 2022). The
resounding success of our previous ICSC has inspired us to plan
our seventh conference. This conference will be held on 13 -15
September 2022 at Raia Hotel & Convention Centre,
Terengganu.
The conference is a platform for scholars and experts in the
fields of management and business to share their teaching
and research cases.
We are glad and honoured to invite you to submit cases
(teaching cases or research cases) and to participate in our
upcoming conference.

Assalamualaikum and Salam Sejahtera.

In the name of Allah SWT, the beneficent and merciful. All praise is merely to
The Mightiest Allah SWT, the lord of the worlds, for the gracious mercy and
tremendous blessing that enable us to held the 7th International Case Study
Conference (ICSC) 2022 at Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.

Our success in organizing the 6th International Case Study Conference in
September 2021 has inspired us to organize the event annually. We believe
that the ICSC 2022 has been an excellent communication and collaboration
forum for researchers and practitioners to contribute in disseminating
research results on current business and management issues through the use
of case studies. Case studies allow management theories and practices to
be taught more effectively as it allows students to deal with real, specific
issues in an organization. To help with the teaching and learning process, it is
imperative that cases are written and developed in such a manner that they
are not only interesting but more importantly useful and beneficial. Through
the use of cases, we can develop and enhance analytical thinking skills
among our students, expose them to practical situations and, above all,
make teaching more interesting, meaningful and lively.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and
thanks to all the committee members who have been very committed
towards ensuring the success of the conference. Appreciation also goes to
the management of UUM, sponsors, school members, paper presenters,
conference participants, paper reviewers and everyone involved directly or

Institute for Management and Business 7th International Case Study Conference (ICSC) 2022
Research (IMBRe)

The Institute for Management and Business Research (IMBRe)
was established on 27 June, 2010. The establishment of the
Institute was from the initial idea of YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Seri Dr
Mohamed Mustapha Ishak, the current Director General of
Higher Education, Malaysia, who was then, the Vice-
Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia. The objective of setting
up the Institute is to generate management and business case
studies for pedagogical purposes. It has been our aspiration
that one day the Institute for Management and Business
Research (IMBRe) will be positioned as a regional reference
centre for management and business case studies.

Vision

• To become a reputable centre for case study research
activities in business and management.

Mission

• To provide an effective platform for academic,
government and business collaborations in case study
research and development in the area of management
and business.

Dato’ Che Azmi bin Murad
Former Chief Operating Officer
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd

YBhg. Dato' Che Azmi bin Murad first started his career as an Air Traffic
Controller in 1970 with the Department of Civil Aviation, now known as
the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia ("CAAM") and subsequently joined
Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad ("MAHB") when it was incorporated in
1992. Since then, his career with MAHB group has been wide-ranging,
including stints as airport managers in several domestic and international
airports.
Some of his senior roles also include General Manager of ("GM") Sepang
International Circuit, GM of Corporate Communications and Air Traffic
Services, GM of Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd, Senior GM of
Operation Services, Executive Director of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen
International Airport Investment Development and Operation Inc. ("ISG")
and Chief Operating Officer of MAHB. YBhg. Dato' Che Azmi bin Murad
was the Chairman of the Airports Council International World Facilitation
and Services Standing Committee.
