Agreement definition:
A SaveMoneyCutCarbon Service Agreement to continue maintaining the Propelair product base across the Moto estate. The
SMCC product and install warranty for all Propelair units expired on March 31st 2021. This agreement supersedes the
previous agreement. A team of dedicated in – house SaveMoneyCutCarbon engineers will carry out reactive maintenance
across the 26 Propelair locations at Moto services in England, representing 970 toilets.

Agreement scope:
Reactive maintenance agreement
••• SaveMoneyCutCarbon will maintain the Propelair toilets in good working order at Moto sites
A standard site visit procedure comprising 1) Actioning the Moto work order 2) Performing flush tests on all site units to
ensure operation is at 100%, with proactive maintenance works carried out where necessary to achieve this.
5 days a week cover during normal working hours 08:30 – 17:30. Emergency cover applied to weekends and bank
• holidays with the exception of Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. (Cover provided by Moto Regional Contractor Network).

Section 3: Author Narrative

Four months have now been completed on the nine month agreement.
On 5th July David Ball joined the team as Lead Propelair Technician / Midlands technician.
Throughout July all work orders were serviced by Martyn Baldry and David Ball, with some additional support from Alex Heywood.
In July, works orders received were the same as June – 23.
In contrast, the number of toilets logged as offline increased from 44 to 53, which is expected due to the summer peak season.
The number of sites visited within the month stayed the same as the prior month - 14.
There were 5 proactive site visits carried out by Martyn and David, resulting in 19 toilets receiving repairs. It should be noted that not all toilets were
offline, the majority required replacement lids or latches due to damage. These parts have been replaced as a preventative measure, as over time a
cracked lid will cause the air pump motor to work harder to flush and eventually damage it to the point of failure.
53 toilets were repaired in the month, with 19 resulting from proactive identification by SMCC. This provides a breakdown of 65% moto reported
toilets against 35% SMCC proactive fixes.
SMCC aims to continually improve on the number of proactive fixes carried out each month.
The methodology the two technicians will be employing will be as follows:
• Visit sites in their region proactively on a weekly basis and keep regular communication with regional maintenance engineers
• Identify toilets requiring repair
• Contact Moto support centre to raise work order to capture work performed
• Issue report detailing work

Section 3: Author Narrative Cont.

3.1 Exception Report
Cherwell Valley
In July an emergency work order was issued for Cherwell Valley: 7055/1982. The site was attended on Friday 16th July late at night by David Ball.
The request was put in for emergency out of hours attendance because there were 5 toilets out of 10 offline in the gents, as well as several in the
ladies. The visit identified a number of toilets offline due to seals having been incorrectly fitted. This is not covered under the agreement and seals
should only be fitted by SMCC / Moto RME.
On Monday 19th a recall order was placed 7055/1928R1, resulting in attendance on Tuesday 20th. Again David attended site and found several toilets
with incorrectly fitted seals on the lid or seat. At this point it was identified that a cleaner had been carrying out the seal replacements.
This advisory issue was reported back to Moto, in order to prevent further disruption for both parties going forward.
SaveMoneyCutCarbon is producing a visual cleaning guide that will be distributed as a laminated document to each site.
Lancaster
Emergency same day attendance for Lancaster requested on 26/07/21. SMCC did not attend but established through communication with the site
RME that the cause of the issue was a site electrical fault. Through effective communication the issue was resolved and an unnecessary charge
prevented.

3.2. Connector Blocks
After lobbying from SMCC, Propelair have produced a method for restoring toilets with connector blocks back to manufacturer condition. Crimping
tools and relevant cables and connections have been purchased so that SMCC and Propelair can carry these repairs out at the point of discovery.
There will be a price per toilet charge for making good on any tampered toilets. Pricing is TBC.
