The AGU project marked a pivotal moment in my career, as it was the first instance where I applied a visionary approach of monolith to design projects. Despite facing the challenge of numerous alternatives, the introduction of Monolith’s groundbreaking technology revolutionized our presentation capabilities, allowing us to efficiently showcase a multitude of design options to our client. This innovative tool not only streamlined our process but also elevated the client’s experience, setting a new standard for efficiency and creativity in design presentations. In tackling the Abdullah Gul University project, our primary challenge revolved around the multitude of furniture types and numerous alternatives required. To address this, we meticulously listed all options within a game engine, generating simple yet fitting examples. Subsequently, we transformed existing 3D models into immersive environments through simulations, presenting our client with a grand palette of alternative furniture and solutions. This innovative approach not only streamlined the decision-making process but also offered a visually rich and engaging experience for the client to explore and choose from various design options. Following a successful presentation of the project, we received outstanding feedback from our client. Monolith v.01 not only efficiently showcased a multitude of alternatives but also played a pivotal role in helping our client envision all the products for the project from different perspectives. The immersive and comprehensive experience provided by Monolith significantly contributed to the client’s understanding and appreciation of the design, fostering a positive and collaborative engagement throughout the project. The Kavaklıdere Project played a crucial role in showcasing the transformative capabilities introduced by the Monolith in design presentations. Confronted with the challenge of visualizing designs in a non-existent space, we utilized Monolith to create dynamic environmental simulations, overcoming the obstacle effectively. This project served as a catalyst for significant advancements in Monolith’s capabilities, pushing the boundaries of design representation and opening up new possibilities for immersive and adaptable presentations. Kavaklıdere proved to be a pivotal project in the continuous enhancement of Monolith. Leveraging game engines, we simulated environmental and material changes, pushing the boundaries of design presentation. Additionally, by simulating client interactions and utilizing the game engine’s user-friendly effect management interface, we tailored special experiences based on client preferences, showcasing Monolith’s adaptability in creating dynamic and personalized design presentations. 01 02 03 00 Sketch Work for Design Presentation Overall Process for Kavaklıdere Presentation The design for Kavaklıdere went beyond the physical stand; it extended to a virtual replica within the metaverse exhibition space. This groundbreaking iteration, surpassing its predecessors, introduced unprecedented innovation by allowing not only the manipulation of materials and environments but also enabling the dynamic transformation of forms. The project’s success in handling the intricacies of large-scale designs showcased Monolith’s enhanced versatility, setting a new standard for innovative and adaptive architectural presentations. resadiye residences the 01 02 03 00 In our design process for Resadiye, Monolith played a pivotal role, particularly in presenting alternative approaches for key design points. A prime example was the main bedroom area, identified as a top priority by our client. To address this, we generated more than six alternative designs, leveraging Monolith’s capabilities in game engines and VR tools. Through Monolith, we crafted an interface for material alternatives and showcased diverse forms, empowering our client to explore and choose from a range of design options for this crucial space. In the Resadiye project, our reliance on game engine and VR presentations, particularly in prioritized areas, proved to be a game-changer. This approach not only enabled us to showcase our work in an immersive manner but also significantly saved time. The immersive, game-like presentations allowed our clients to explore different perspectives and simulate their daily routines within the proposed spaces before the physical project commenced. The overwhelmingly positive feedback received attests to the success of Monolith in delivering a transformative and efficient design experience for both designers and clients alike. Interactive Material Palette VR Presentation Interactive Alternative Creation Resadiye Project was our first residential venture using Monolith, establishing it as a pioneer in efficient design presentation and unveiling its capabilities.
With ongoing improvements, Monolith is poised to transcend its role as a mere presentation tool, evolving into a captivating universe where designs can be experienced in a more immersive and attractive manner, providing a novel and engaging dimension to the design experience. Monolith goes beyond design presentations, acting as a versatile simulation tool for architectural processes. It provides quick assessments of acoustic and visual isolation levels, aiding architects in refining spatial design effectively. Monolith’s simplified interface not only showcases designs during client presentations but actively involves clients in the planning process, facilitating real-time interactions and decision-making for more personalized outcomes. Monolith has the potential to leverage metaverse tools, creating a comprehensive universe that incorporates the entire portfolio of a design firm. This immersive experience enables clients to explore other projects by the design firm, gaining insights and inspiration for their upcoming ventures. What’s next for ? Since 2019, Monolith has been consistently evolving and generating innovative projects, with an ongoing commitment to improvement. Looking ahead, there are plans to enhance Monolith’s capabilities further, adding new features and tools to its arsenal to increase its effectiveness in various design projects.
