NOTE-EXPANSION
Azman and Ali are boon companions but they are hot-tempered boys. They
study in the same school. Their hobby are playing football.
Last Sunday, Azman and Ali went to the school field to play football which is
located approximately 300 metres from their respective houses. So, they went to
school on foot. It was a sunny day. The sun was shining brightly in the sky when they
left their respective houses. It was a perfect day to play football.
They were playing football happily together. They were as happy as a lark. The
game was indeed very interesting. They did not realize that they had spent an hour
playing football. Unfortunately, while they were playing, Azman accidentally kicked
Ali`s leg very hard. Ali fell and injured himself. His knee was bleeding profusely after
the fall. He cried loudly as the pain was unbearable. Ali was angry and beat him. Soon,
they were fighting like cats and dogs.
Coincidentally, two girls were watching them. They were shocked and
surprised. They felt panicky and did not know what to do. They were trembling in fear
at first. Luckily, they managed to stay calm. They had a brainwave. They ratted the
incident to their teacher.
Without delay, they ran as fast as deer to inform their teacher. Within minutes,
their teacher, Mr. Hassan arrived at the spot. He was hot under the collar with them.
They were getting on his nerve. His face was as red as blood. He lost his temper and
scolded them badly. The teacher stopped the fight .He advised them to be friends
again.
Azman and Ali were remorseful and ashamed of themselves. They apologized
to their teacher, Mr. Hassan. They regretted for what they had done. Although, it was
unintentional they blamed themselves for the blunder. They promised not to repeat
the same mistake in the future as they realised, “Once bitten twice shy.”
They continued playing football again.
Ghazali is a talented and hardworking boy. His hobby is drawing and cycling.
One lazy evening, Ghazali was cycling around the neighbour. It was a sunny
day. The sun was shining brightly in the sky when he left his house. It was a perfect day
for cycling. As he was cycling, he came across a notice on a notice board about an
art competition. He was very curious about the competition. He wanted to take part
in the competition.
Without delay, he cycled home as fast as lightning and enlightened his mother
about the competition. Later, Ghazali and his mother went to a stationery shop which
is located approximately 5 kilometres from their house. Therefore, they went there by
car. After 10 minutes, they arrived safely at the shop. Ghazali bought a new set of paint
and brushes. He started practising drawing and colouring diligently as he believed,
“Practice makes perfect.”
One the competition day, Ghazali went early to Kenari Town Hall to take part
in the competition. There were many children and their parents at the crowded and
noisy hall. Ghazali drew the picture beautifully and skilfully. The activity was indeed
very interesting. He did not realize that he had spent an hour at the competition. After
that, he handed in his masterpiece.
He waited patiently to know the winner of the competition. He won the first prize
in the drawing competition. He was speechless as he could hide his excitement. He
jumped in joy. He was as happy as a lark. Feeling in cloud nine, he received a trophy
from the District Officer. He praised Ghazali for the success. Ghazali was pleased with
the compliment. He believes, “Where there is a will, there is a way.”
His parents were proud of him. He wanted to take part in more competition in
the future.
Last school holidays, a troop of outdoorsy scouts of SK Sri Kiambang went
camping in the jungle which is located approximately 4 kilometres from their school.
Therefore, they went there by bicycles. It was a sunny day. The sun was shining brightly
in the sky when they left their school. It was a perfect day to go for an outdoor activity.
After 20 minutes, they reached the jungle. They put up their tents skilfully by the
river. One of them went to collect some firewood. They boiled some water and cooked
food for lunch. They worked together as they believed, “Many hands make light
work.” They enjoyed eating their lunch while chatting with each other. They gobbled
up their food and cleaned their plates as they were as hungry as a wolf. After that,
they slept like a log as they were very exhausted.
Later in the evening, they started fishing under a big shady tree. They waited
patiently and managed to catch a lot of fishes like ‘Kelah’, ‘Baung’ and ‘Patin’. They
realized, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” They cooked the fish for dinner.
At night, they sat around the campfire. They played games and sang songs.
The activities were indeed very interesting. They did not realize they had spent a
couple of hours playing and singing. They were as happy as a lark and really enjoyed
themselves. After two hours, they retired to bed. They were exhausted yet happy. They
wanted to go camping again in the future.
It was a red letter day for them. Upon reaching home, they related the incident
to their respective parents who were proud of them. Their parents always remind them
that, “A day of travelling will bring a basket of fruitful learning”.
Sir Rashid is a benign and friendly teacher. Yesterday was his
last day at school. He will be transferring to another school nearby.
He has been teaching in the school for fifteen years. During the
assembly, the headmaster delivered a farewell speech. Sir Rashid
too gave a speech. All the pupils listened attentively to him. He
advised the pupils to study hard.
The school organised a grand farewell party for him at the
school canteen. There were a variety of homemade food served on
the table like fried noodles, fried chickens, jellies, curry puffs,
doughnuts and orange juice. All the pupils and teachers enjoyed
the scrumptious meal. Some of the pupils gave presents to Sir Rashid
to show their appreciation. Sir Rashid was extremely delighted and
touched.
At noon, when Sir Rashid was about to leave the school, all the
pupils and teachers gathered at the school gate. They waved their
hands and bid him farewell. A teacher managed to snap some
photographs using his new digital camera. All of them were sad.
They shed tears when Sir Rashid left the school as they could not
hide their sorrow. It was an unforgettable day for them.
Baharom is a benign, amiable and helpful neighbour. He always helps
people who are in hot soup. No wonder he has many friends.
One day, Baharom went outside his house to throw the rubbish.
Suddenly, he saw his neighbour, Azlina crying loudly at the gate. He was taken
aback and surprised. He felt panicky and did not know what to do. Luckily, he
managed to stay calm. He had a brainwave. He asked her why was she crying.
She told him that her kitten was lost.
Baharom decided to find the kitten for her. They searched high and low
for the kitten in the neighbourhood but to no avail. After that, they went to the
playground which is located approximately 200 metres from their respective
houses. Azlina looked for the kitten under the slide but the kitten was not there.
Soon, they overheard a meowing sound which was coming from a tunnel.
Baharom found the kitten. It was scared. It looked weak and vulnerable. It was
in bad condition. It needed immediate attention. Baharom immediately,
handed the kitten over to Azlina who was speechless as she could not hide her
excitement. She was extremely delighted. She was as happy as a lark and
jumped with joy.
Azlina carried her kitten and went home with Baharom. She thanked and
praised him for his good deed and kindness. Baharom was pleased with the
compliment. Baharom grinned from ear to ear and said, “ Where there is a will,
there is a way.” At home, he related the incident to his parents. They were
proud of him and said “One good turn deserves another.” The incident
happened a fortnight ago but was still clear in his mind. Baharom never
regretted learning the meaning of kindness.
Hamid, bosom friend, is an active, energetic and diligent boy.
His hobby is playing football.
One day, Azman and his neighbours went to play football at a
park which is located approximately 200 metres from their
respective houses. Therefore, he went there on foot. It was a sunny
day and the sun was shining brightly in the sky when they left their
respective houses. It was a perfect day to play football.
As they were playing, Hamid kicked the ball hard and it rolled
into the nearby drain. He had a brilliant idea. He tried to take the
ball himself but to no avail. He could not reach the ball. He was
shocked and surprised. He did not lose his head as he managed to
stay calm.
Coincidentally, a man was passing by the park. Hamid asked
him if he could help them to take the ball. The man managed to get
the ball successfully and returned it to Hamid. Hamid was extremely
happy. He could not hide his excitement and jumped with joy. He
was grateful to the man. He thanked him from the bottom of his
heart for his good deed and kindness. The man was pleased with
the compliment and later left the spot.
Hamid continued playing football.
Yusof, who is twelve years old, studies in SK Ayer Lanas, Kelantan
which is located approximately two kilometres from his house. He is a bosom
friend of mine. He is an active, diligent and in the good books of his friends. No
wonder he has many friends.
Last week, SK Ayer Lanas organised its annual Sports Day in grand scale
at the school field. Every sport houses put up their respective tents. The tents
were decorated with colourful balloons and buntings. It was a sunny day. The
sun was shining brightly in the sky. It was a perfect day to organise a Sports
Day. Many people came to watch this grand event including Yusof and his
friends. The school field was crowded with many people from all walks of life
and respected guests.
He took part in the 100m, 200m and 4 X 100m relay races. He practised
hard before the event as he believes “Practice makes perfect”. He ran as fast
as he could and won all the races. Many people clapped and cheered happily
for him.
During the closing ceremony, the headmaster gave away the prizes to
the winners including Yusof and he was chosen as the most remarkable and
outstanding Sports Boy of the year. He was proud of himself. He was speechless
as he could not hide his excitement. He jumped with joy and was as happy as
a lark. It is a memorable day in his life. He would treasure this moment for the
rest of his life. At home, he related the incident to his parents. They were proud
of him as all his hard work was paid off and it was a fruitful effort after all.
Azlina, my neighbour, is twelve years old. She is a kind-hearted and
helpful girl. She is a bosom friend of mine.
One day, Azlina was walking home from a shop. Suddenly she spotted
a house on fire. It was Fatimah`s house .Fatimah is her good neighbour. A
misfortune struck her family. She was crying bitterly outside her house. Azlina
was shocked and anxious. Feeling a bit panicky, Azlina did not know what to
do. She was trembling in fear. Fortunately, she managed to stay calm. She felt
a surge of pity for her.
At home, she related the incident to her family. They wanted to help the
fire victims. A brainwave sprang into their mind. They decided to collect some
money, old clothes, bottles and cans from their neighbours around the
neighbourhood. Most of them are very generous and helpful. They managed
to raise RM 500.00.
The next day, they visited the fire-victims and gave them the donation.
Fatimah and her family were very delighted and relieved. The victims were
grateful and praised them for their good deed and kindness. Azlina was
pleased with the compliment. Azlina felt satisfied because she played her part
to help the fire-victims. It was indeed an incident to remember as she never
regretted learning the meaning of kindness.

Zahid, who is twelve years old, studies in SK Ayer Lanas. He is a golden
hearted, helpful boy and always in the good books of his teachers and friends.
No wonder he has many friends.
Last week, he was going to celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri at the village
which is located approximately 67 kilometres from his house. Therefore, he
decided to go there by bus. There were many people at the bus stop. The place
was noisy and crowded. It was sunny day. The sun was shining brightly in the
sky. It was a perfect to go to his village.
When the bus arrived at the bus stop, everyone started to line up. They
queued properly and waited for their turn patiently to board the bus.
Unfortunately, when the old woman wanted to get onto the bus, she tripped
and fell onto the tarmac road. Zahid was shocked and surprised. Luckily, Zahid
did not lose his head and managed to stay calm. Zahid felt pity for the old
woman. Everyone was startled but no one came to help the unlucky woman.
Being a good Samaritan, Zahid instantly helped the old woman to stand
and board the bus. Fortunately, she was not badly injured. She was grateful to
Zahid. She thanked and praised him for his heroic action and benevolence.
Zahid was pleased with the compliment. Zahid was proud of himself and
continued his journey. The incident still lingered in his mind and he never
regretted learning the meaning of kindness as he believed “Kindness begets
kindness”.
