THE WEEKLY TIMES

TURNS 100 YEARS!

The Weekly Times celebrates
100 years of continuous and
uninterrupted publication next
Wednesday September 1.

THE TIMES was launched in
Gladesville on September 1 1921 by
Charles Halliday Engisch and has
continued under the editorship and
publication by John F Booth AM
since May 1 1979.

We had hoped to celebrate in
style but our celebrations have
been placed on hold as a result
of the current Covid-19 pandemic
restrictions.

But we will party on for all when
we get over the restraints.

Meanwhile we have tried to make
this week’s edition an almost Covid-
free publication as you are probably
as fed up with it all as much as us!

But we cannot promise to be so
restrained next week – even if it is
our Centenary birthday celebration!

And please try and Keep Smiling!

The Kookaburras’ silver
medal capped a courageous
campaign. They remained un-

togetherness and a standard
of hockey that was world class
throughout the tournament
despite a tumultuous prepara-

In the past 18 months, they

The silver medal positions
