The Weekly Times readers know of our long
standing relationship with Banjo Paterson and
the fact he was born near Yeovil in the Orange dis-
trict and resided in the Ryde area at Gladesville
staying with his Grandmother at Rockend Village,
now Banjo Paterson restaurant, during his school
days in Sydney.
The Weekly Times relationship with Orange
grew stronger though the efforts of Orange long-
time deputy mayor Chris Gryllis and councillors

our Granny Smith Festival held every October in
Eastwood in the City of Ryde.
