Community gets first look at plans for upgraded Eastwood Public School
The Eastwood community will have the first look at its up-
graded school today, with new artist’s impressions being Eastwood Public School principal Cameron Jones with Ryde MP Victor Dominello with an art-
released by the NSW Government. ist’s impression of the building to be upgraded behind them

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said she was excited to see the illustra-
tion of the upgrade planned for Eastwood Public School.

“We want our students to be inspired when they come to school and if this
new image is anything to go by, the upgrade at Eastwood Public School will
do just that,” Ms Mitchell said.

The project will deliver a new building with innovative, flexible classrooms,
as well as a new toilet block.

Member for Ryde Victor Dominello said the upgrade will greatly benefit
the students and teachers at Eastwood Public School, as well as the wider
Ryde community.

“I’m pleased to see the new artist impression for the upgrade at Eastwood
Public School, it helps us imagine what the new facilities will look like.”

A Development Application is in the process of being submitted to the
City of Ryde, and construction works are expected to begin in late 2020

The NSW Government is investing $6.7 billion over four years to deliver
more than 190 new and upgraded schools to support communities across
NSW.

In addition, a record $1.3 billion is being spent on school maintenance
over five years, along with a record $500 million for the sustainable Cooler
Classrooms program to provide air conditioning to schools.

This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the his-
tory of NSW.
