What is not reported If you would like to
volunteer with Stryder,
Working within a busy and large hospital environment it
is normal to see emergency teams in action and people
working hard in critical care situations.

Yet within our wider world there are also constant emer-
gencies and critical life situations.

Our news media in Australia and beyond has given and is
giving wide coverage to the flood situations in the Lismore
district and the tragic military conflict in the Ukraine.

Yet what is often not widely reported are similar emer-
gency and life situations in other parts of our world.

Cyclone Ana has recently devastated large parts of Mo-
zambique, Madagascar and Malawi.

A recent report says that at least eighty-six people have
been killed and thousands of people are homeless.

Since January 2022, no less than 546 large communities
in Brazil have been declared a state of emergency due to
massive flooding.

Since November 2020 there has been a brutal civil war
raging in Ethiopia on the African continent where at least
100,000 innocent civilians have been killed that has also
left a massive humanitarian crisis.

So often the unsung heroes in these countries are the
people in the media who at risk to their own lives bravely
report these critical situations to the rest of the world.

Jesus of Nazareth leaves us with this chilling prophecy;
‘For nations will rise against each other and in various plac-
es there will be wars, famines, floods and earthquakes.’
(Matthew Chapter 24, verse 7)
