der an agreement with the Federal Government.

He was joined on the tour by Bennelong MP
John Alexander OAM who said that under pro-
posed agreement every Australian will be given
the University of Oxford COVID-19 vaccine for
free, should trials prove successful, safe and ef-
fective.

“AstraZeneca’s Australian HQ is based right
here in Bennelong and if this vaccine proves suc-
cessful, our whole country’s vaccine delivery ef-
forts will be coordinated from right here in our
backyard,” he said.

“It further demonstrates that Bennelong is at the
cutting edge of modern technological and bio-
medical research, which is where the future is.”

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the Oxford
University trial was in a phase three stage and
more work was needed to prove its viability.

“The Oxford vaccine is one of the most ad-
vanced and promising in world, and under this
deal we have secured early access for every Aus-
tralian,” the Prime Minister said.

“If this vaccine proves successful, we will manu-
facture and supply vaccines straight away under
our own steam and make it free for 25 million
Australians.”

We want more carparking
at West Ryde Please support
The Weekly Times and Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club are supporting a move by Ryde Victor’s Petition
MP Victor Dominello to increase commuter carparking at West Ryde in Rydedale
Road adjacent to West Ryde railway station. TWT on-the-spot PHOTO

Ryde-Eastwood Leagues
Club CEO Carl Pozzato and
The Weekly Times editor
John F Booth AM joined Vic-
tor Dominello last Friday to
endorse and promote the ac-
tion.

Carl said:
“Car Parking for commut-
ers and the local community
on the Ryedale Road side of
West Ryde station has been
an ongoing challenge for
many years.
“We at Ryde-Eastwood ab-
solutely support increasing
the available parking spaces
at the station.
“Due to this lack of available
parking space for commuters,
many resort to finding parking
in the surrounding streets and
often use the club’s own car-
park to find a safe location for
their vehicles with good secu-
rity and peace of mind while
travelling via public transport.
“The club believes that in-
creasing the available parking
spaces at the station will ben-
efit the local community and
its many commuters”.
Victor invites members of
the community to sign his pe-
tition to encourage the State
Government to act.
See details in his promotion-
al advertisement below.

Victor Dominello MP

State Member for Ryde

More Commuter Carparking
on Ryedale Road, West Ryde

There’s been lots of talk over the years about having more
commuter carparking in West Ryde – the time for talk is over.
I would appreciate your support in demonstrating our community’s strong
desire for more commuter carparking. Please help me do this by signing
the petition.
We need at least 100 more commuter parking spaces at West Ryde. We
need security inclusions such as good lighting and CCTV and it should be
easily accessible with quality footpaths and sufficient landscaping.
Please join me in the fight and complete the online petition by scanning the
QR code opposite or by visiting https://tinyurl.com/westrydecarpark.
