The World of Waldo Sexton

He loved Buddhas and elephants. He adored family and embraced hard work and
attention to detail. Wherever he looked, he wanted to see something fun and
interesting, worth staring at.

Those are just three matter of facts that can be gathered through material
observation and assumption with very little personal knowledge of Waldo Sexton.
The structures he built, the home(s) he made, the relationships he bolstered and
traditions he began – all are particular and unique to the history of Waldo Sexton

and, eventually, the history of Vero Beach.

Part 3: Vero Beach Art Village at Edgewood

Imagine an entire neighborhood that has a common goal of retrofitting the
streets, homes, and motifs surrounding it, in hopes to increasingly beautify and
revive the area as a means to attract more visitors downtown. That’s what the
Edgewood community in downtown Vero Beach has begun the process of, backed
behind the city and cultural development committees. The Vero Beach Art VIllage
(VBAV) is currently working with the City of Vero Beach to rezone the district to

allow for multiple use home/artist studios and cafes in the Edgewood
neighborhood.
