Introduction
Warm and welcoming with an air of quiet, rural charm – Yew Lodge Country House is a classic Victorian house offering a top-class service for weddings. Named after the 800 year old tree in the beautiful 10 acre gardens, the estate is steeped in history, with first references dating back to 959ad. The house as it stands now was built around 1891, with substantial enhancements carried out over the years, including a new facility built in 2010, especially designed for wedding celebrations.
Exclusively for You
One of the great benefits of coming to Yew Lodge Country House is that you will have sole use of all the facilities in total privacy and seclusion. It is an intimate venue and many people have commented favourably on the special atmosphere.
For the wedding breakfast we offer a choice of two reception areas – both with direct access to patios and the gardens. For small, intimate weddings of up to 50 seated guests, we have the Oak Suite, so called due to the oak panelling in the main room, complimented by silk screens, which are part of the original building. For up to 130 seated guests, we have the Sycamore Suite, recently built and incorporating classic quality with modern features such as air conditioning. For evening receptions or more informal dining we can accommodate 180 guests in total.
As well as your choice of reception suites, guests can also enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the gardens – whatever the season they provide the ideal opportunity to take in some fresh air and wonderful views.

The Wedding Ceremony
We are licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, so your whole wedding celebration can take place at Yew Lodge Country House. Indoor weddings can be held at any time of the year and Outside weddings can be held May-September. Alternatively, several churches representing the main denominations are close by.
Wedding Reception
The contemporary styled Sycamore Suite has high ceilings, air conditioning sparkly floor and mood lighting, and can seat up to 130 for the wedding breakfast.
For more intimate weddings of 2 - 50 guests, the traditional Oak Suite in the main house has oak panelling, silk screens and many original features from the “arts & craft” period.
Both suites are on the ground floor with lots of natural lighting and direct access to their own patio and the gardens.
Catering
Knowing that good food, fine wine and attentive service are vital ingredients for the success of any event, Yew Lodge Country House offers a bespoke range of catering services. Having our own resident chef and kitchen team enables us to design menus to suit your individual taste and budget and we have established an excellent reputation for the quality of our catering.
Accommodation
Overnight accommodation is available, and we have a luxurious bridal suite and 10 additional en-suite bedrooms (including two family rooms).

We are surrounded by open countryside, yet only 5 minutes from the railway network and A22; 20 minutes from Caterham; Tunbridge Wells; Gatwick Airport; and M23/ M25/M26 motorways

To see if Yew Lodge Country House is your dream wedding venue we’d love you to come for a showround and see everything we have to offer. As a guide, to hold your wedding at Yew Lodge Country House prices are given here based on a classic wedding celebration. However, if you would like something different we are more than happy to discuss this with you. We can then give you a personal quotation based on your own special wishes, giving you a unique wedding that’s as individual as you are!

Wedding Menu Options
Canapés
Depending on the timing of your wedding and reception, canapés aren’t always required and so we don’t include
them in our wedding package as standard. However, we can easily provide them as an additional option and the following selection of canapés is offered with the aim of meeting both individual preferences and budgets. Each menu has been especially chosen by our chef to suit a range of tastes and dietary requirements. However, you are welcome to “mix and match” or even suggest some of your own favourites. Once agreed, the menu and price becomes fixed.

This menu is included in our wedding package and is based on you selecting one choice from each course for all guests (dishes with supplementary prices in addition).

Residential Accommodation
In addition to the Honeymoon Suite, we have 10 bedrooms available (all en-suite) and if they are all used to capacity we can accommodate a total of 28 guests. They are all situated on the first floor and as we don’t have lifts, unfortunately they are

Surrey Registration Information for Civil Weddings and Partnerships
Yew Lodge Country House comes under Tandridge District Council in Surrey and our register office is at Leatherhead. Booking the registrar is the responsibility of the bride and groom and further information and costs are given below (as supplied by Leatherhead Register Office). These costs are in addition to the hire of the ceremony room and facilities at Yew Lodge Country House.
Once you have booked a ceremony with your chosen venue, you must book a registrar for a ceremony, you can do this up to two years before your ceremony date.
Bookings are taken strictly on a first come, first served basis. You can request a call from the ceremonies office by completing a ceremonies enquiry form on their website.
You can make a booking up to two years in advance of the day of your ceremony. The Register Office is unable to predict the demand on any particular day and bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis. At the time of booking you will be required to pay the costs of the ceremony in full by debit/credit card. The booking process will take 10-15 minutes.
There are a limited amount of time-slots offered for ceremonies depending on the day of the week. Please contact us as soon as possible.

Location
Yew Lodge Country House is located on the borders of West Sussex, Surrey and Kent, close to Crawley, Croydon, Sevenoaks and Royal Tunbridge Wells. It is within easy reach of the M25, M23, and M26/M20 motorways. Gatwick Airport is 20 minutes by road.
East Grinstead railway station (2 miles) provides regular, direct services
to London Victoria and London Bridge (both 50 minutes). East Croydon and London Bridge stations provide connections to Thameslink which has direct services to North London, Luton Airport and Bedford.
Yew Lodge is on the outskirts of East Grinstead, set well back from the road. It is approached by a long, private drive, making us secluded but
not remote. We have ample, private parking.
