MR WILLIAM HASSARD - 4 AUGUST 1988 Aged 59 Ex 4UDR.
Shot dead by the IRA as he was driving out of the joint RUC/Army base in Belleek,
Co Fermanagh. His only crime was being a contractor working in the Joint Base, he had left the
UDR in 1983. Another contractor Mr Frederick Love was also killed in the gun attack.

L/CPL. A.C. HARPER - 08 AUGUST 1972. Aged 19 (A. COY) (SINGLE).
Killed while flagging down traffic at an Army checkpoint in Armagh City.

CPL. DAVID F. POWELL - 28 NOVEMBER 1971. Aged 22.
Killed in a landmine attack while on mobile patrol in Co Fermanagh.
2ND/LT. ANDREW SOMERVELL - 27 MARCH 1973. Age 20.
Killed in a landmine attack while on mobile patrol near Ballygawley. Co Tyrone.
TROOPER SEAN PRENDERGAST - 05 APRIL 1977. Aged 22.
Died the day after he had been badly injured in a landmine attack while on mobile patrol in
Derrynacross, Co.Fermanagh.
SGT ROBERT MAUGHAN - 06 MAY 1979. Aged 30.
Killed alongside an RUC colleague in an ambush on their car while parked outside a church near
Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh.
SGT PAUL ORAM - 21 FEBRUARY 1984. Aged 26.
Killed in a firefight with IRA terrorists gunmen near Ballymoney, County Antrim. Two terrorists
were killed in this operation.

GUARDSMAN SAMUEL MURPHY - 14 NOVEMBER 1974. Aged 21.
While home on leave he was shot near his Mothers House in Benagh Drive in Andersontown,
West Belfast. He died in Hospital 11 days later.
SGT PHILIP PRICE - 21 JULY 1972. Aged 27.
Killed in an Explosion at the Oxford Street Bus Station in Belfast. This day was later called Bloody
Friday which saw 22 bombs go off and left 12 dead including William Crothers - Aged 15 and
Stephen Parker - Aged 14. Another soldier DRIVER STEPHEN COOPER - Aged 19 (RCT) also died
at the Bus Station.
GUARDSMAN DAVID ROBERTSON - 24 NOVEMBER 1973. Aged 25.
Killed in a landmine attack while on foot patrol in Crossmaglen, County Armagh.
GUARDSMAN PAUL FRYER - 13 NOVEMBER 1979. Aged 18.
Killed as the foot patrol he was part of passed a telegraph pole which had been booby trapped with a
bomb at Crossmaglen, County Armagh.
