Introduction
To have a successful hotel we need, good location, good cleanliness, great customer service all
around, efficient pricing and people on the right places - meaning they do their job well and
gladly.
But assuming we have all that, is not enough. Great product itself still does not mean a success,
we need to well offer and SELL that product.
Where are we/Where do we want to be
I like the saying "Numbers don't lie" because it is true! On the
other hand I am not saying that numbers are everything but
they are surely great tool and indicator and prevent us to do
decisions based just on feelings and experiences.
The fundament for that is:
Determining a hotels proper market position, based on external
market-based factors and identifying areas for potential
additional revenue and areas for expense control improvement
based on internal property factors.
So let us:
1. Identify a property‘s competitive strengths and weaknesses
2. Develop and implement strategies for increasing market
penetration
3. Review expense control measures and increasing
profitability levels
Which basically means, working well with all the numbers and
data we already have alongside with the occupancy rate!
note: It is good to look at the competition but let's not be
obsessed by it! I have already experienced that and it is surely
not healthy. It is important to believe in our product and our
strategy - as always balance is the key ;-)
MARKETING PLAN
The trend in the hospitality industry is such that there are peak
periods and off peak periods. Thus, hoteliers know this and
have been able to make provision to properly handle the
change in season. But looking at the capacity and location of
Hotel Sněžka, how amazing it looks and has great features,
there really should not be a low season! If yes, something is
wrong ;-)

Lets analyse and identify what are our optimal clients -
meaning most profitable with the least of risk of mess, breaking
things or inappropriate behaviour. And how to get them!

We must be seen for these clients. Which is today mainly on
internet - social medias plus all different and
specific reservation platforms (booking.com ect.), but the old
school is still important and working: phone, personal
contact/visit to the companies, brochure... We must be active
mainly in Prague and Germany (thats where the money are),
but also Poland, Hradec Kralove, Pardubice and Liberec ect...
The location of this Hotel is great asset and needs to be used
well for marketing. The mountains and nature as well as our
great restaurant and comfort must be big asset for us.
Must have special offers for weddings, business and
corporates and well presented.
Amazing customer service from all departments of the hotel is
very important and necessary marketing!

Let's look at the competition and have it better.
Amazing view, Great look of the building fitting the surrounding
(no modern glass cubic), Parking, Spa, Restaurant, Special
packages for local activities,
All great, but let's keep thinking and searching how to make
the stay in our hotel even more attractive and why should
people chose us...

Deliver consistent customer experiences to all our guest;
making our first impression count positively
Continuously Improve the efficiency of our hotels and

Summary
All plans and ideas on paper are important and good but brings nothing if nobody does them. I
am more a Doer! ;-)
It is all about people - yes cliche phrase - but true. It is the cleaner that gets the room ready and
clean, it is the handyman that fixes the broken shower, it is the reception that welcomes guests
and deal with them, it is the manager the supports his team and lead them....
Hospitality is hard business/work but also great as quality work and product will show and most
likely succeed.
