Summer Sign Up for Spring Soccer
Basketball! Spring Volleyball! Season has Begun!

Spring Soccer In-House League

Games will start the weekend of March 27/28, 2021. WYSC is committed to an
8 game Spring season. We will fulfill this commitment by scheduling 7 weeks of
regular games and the end of season tournament with 3 games. This makes 10
games, 2 above our commitment. If we have any rain outs we will not be able to
make those games up.

End of Season Tournament/Festival
End of season tournament will be held on May 22/23 with a rain date of June 5
& 6. No Games will be played on April 3/4 and May 30/31 due to Memorial Day.

SFL Spring Soccer League

The league is centered in Nothern VA for a wide range of competition for new or
experienced players ages 10–18. SFL is organized around gender specific age
groups: U11, U12, U14, U16 and U19. Teams will play half of the games at Athey
and half at the opposing team’s home field on the weekends. Games begin the
weekend of April 10, with practices during the week.

Mini Kicks Program

Fun introduction training league for players ages 3–5! 45 minute practices weekly
and Saturday/Sunday sessions. Training will be run by WYSC’s director of
coaching, Sergio Guzman. Sessions start the weekend of March 27/28.

Registration

Spring 2021 Soccer Recreational League registration is open for players from the
ages 3–18! Games start the weekend of March 27/28, 2021. The program is open
to  girls and boys born on 1/1/2002 and 12/31/2017 to play this season.

WYSC Mustangs U11 and U12 girls
WYSC has open tryouts after each spring season. Tryouts for the Spring 2021 soccer travel team. Players who are born

Supplemental Travel Soccer Tryouts

Do you have an interest in coaching for soccer or know someone who would be interested in coaching?

WYSC will be hosting a free coaches clinic for all who are interested in coaching for the upcoming spring soccer season. The
clinic will introduce soccer methodology for U8 and U10 children. Having a fun and successful practice session is what every
coach wants. Our Director of Coaching, Coach Sergio Guzman will be hosting a Coaches Clinic at our Athey Sports Complex,
the first weekend of March. Come listen, engage and learn about our U8 and U10 academy style training.

WYSC’s U10 in-house soccer league will be taught using an academy style technique. Teams will have once a week practice
for 1.5 hours each week. The first 45 minutes the teams will work as a group on technical skills coached by WYSC’s Director
of Coaching; Sergio Guzman along with the teams volunteer coach and assistant coaches. The second half of the practice the
teams will separate into individual teams and work on the
teams aspect of soccer. All U10 sessions will be held on Tuesday or Wednesday’s. Currently this methodology is being taught
for U8 children, with practices being held on Wednesday or Thursdays.

Spring Volleyball

WYSC is introducing Spring recreational volleyball! Teams will have an optional practice starting mid-season to help
improve and develop their skills. Practices will be primarily once a week at our outdoor facility in Warrenton.

WYSC’s CAP 1 & Impact certified coaches will help your players prepare for tryouts, travel volleyball, and develop volleyball
skills by focusing on all elements of the game! Visit WYSC.org for more info & to register! Have any questions? Email info@
wysc.org. WYSC Fall volleyball league has a few openings in our High school aged teams. Interested players can register
at wysc.org.

Summer Volleyball

New for the summer 2020 season all games will scheduled and played on Saturday mornings. This will hopefully help
with the heat and allowing the girls to play in cooler temperatures. If any game gets canceled due to rain we will schedule
to make the game up the following week on Sunday afternoon.

Summer Youth Basketball League

WYSC’s Summer Basketball League is coming back for our 3rd Summer in 2021!
Our league will run for one-five-week session through the summer. All teams will
be co-ed in the following age groups; 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 & 11-13 years old. If we have
enough players to make both a boys and girls division WYSC has the option to
separate the teams by gender.

New this season WYSC’s summer basketball program will run over one five week
session with the follow in tentative schedules. New Dates: June 21 – August 7.

Teams are played coed, with maximum of 10 players per team. Each division
will include up to 4 teams. The coordinator works to attempt an even balance
between team’s skill and gender players.

Registration

The registration cost per the new dates is $75 per session for a player, which
includes a camp Adidas T-shirt! Registration opens on the following dates:
February 15 for coaches and players.

Spring 2021 Rec Lacrosse

Spring lacrosse is now open to new and existing players, boys and girls ranging
from 7-14, grades 1-8. Games will be held on Saturdays at Athey Complex. Teams
will be coached by passionate volunteer coaches. There will be two practices a
week starting the week of March 15th at fields in Fauquier County.

Fun Facts About the History of Lacrosse:

Lacrosse is the fastest game played on two feet in the United States
Lacrosse was invented by Native Americans and rules were later invented by
the Seneca and Mohawk Tribes.
Lacrosse was taught to young men to toughen their spirits for day to day life.
The sport develops important physical, mental and motor skills such as hand
eye coordination as we know today.

Spring 2021 Mini-Stix

Open to girls K-2nd and boys K-1st grade. This is a training program with no
games to learn basic skills. One hour a week training practice (weekday or
weekend TBD) at Athey Complex. Only requires a lacrosse stick– WYSC rental
sticks are available. Register at wysc.org/registration. Cost of registration is $50,
which includes a shirt.
