Futsal is Back! S O C

We will be running a 2019-2020 Winter
Futsal Program; the exact dates are
listed below. The futsal program is for any
players interested, recreational and travel,
seasoned/new. Individuals wanting to join
will be assigned to a team as well as be
given a shirt, and matching socks. This is
an opportunity to pass around and compete
during the winter days. We encourage
and attempt to accomodate players/teams
registering as a group. More info is available
on our website, WYSC.org.

Dates: January 12, 19, and 26 & February
2, 9, 16 all saturdays. (SNOW DATE IS
MARCH 1, 2020)

Time: 12pm-6pm

Cost: $95.00 per player, $600.00 per team

WYSC’s Winter
Keeper Clinic

WYSC’s Keeper clinics will test your abilities
while guiding you through the essential
techniques required to be a successful
soccer goal keeper.

We add “cutting edge” tactical training so
that our keepers read the attack, sort out
the options and anticipate the opponent’s
next move. The clinic will challenge
every keeper physically while insuring a
more sophisticated understanding of the
goalkeeper position.

Time: Thursday’s 5:30–7:00

Location: at the WYSC Gym

Soccer Program

WYSC’s Academy Training Program is
a travel-readiness program for players
participating in the Under-6, Under 7, Under-8
or Under-10 division that show enthusiasm
and possess a genuine connection to
soccer. These ages are fundamentally
important in soccer development.  This is
where essential building blocks are instilled
in young athletes. The academy program
targets technical skills development for
each player as well as introducing the
spatial component of the game. Blending
these two disciplines in age-appropriate
progressive drills provides a foundation
for young players to grow and advance
successfully. Training sessions will be held
on Monday evenings at Athey Field.

Enrollment includes a practice shirts and
socks at the start of the Fall season. Each
season will have 8 weekly training sessions.

Programs

WYSC Fall Recreational Volleyball is
a fantastic way for new and returning
players to develop/improve their volleyball
skills. WYSC provides a fun environment
for all skill levels to participate in volleyball.
Every player has an opportunity to play.
The matches are held in a rotating serve
pattern allowing players to participate in
different positions on the court.
Congratulations to the girls who made
the team. We still have a couple of open
spots in our 13-1 and 14-1 team if anyone

BASKE
The WYSC basketball program will register close to 600 players,
ages 5 to High School. To provide playing opportunities for all
registered players, WYSC will need to form close to 60 teams.
Each team will need a volunteer parent coach. Your child needs
your help as a coach. Please consider coaching your child’s team.
To volunteer as a coach, please go to our home page and click
“Register Online” and then select the “Basketball - Winter 2019 -
Coach’s Registration”.

WYSC’s AAU/Travel
Basketball Team

WYSC’s AAU/Travel Basketball will offer
talented and motivated players a chance to
play against other competitive teams. Players
have opportunities to improve their individual
skills and learn team strategy with an emphasis
on the dedication and perseverance needed to
play competitive sports. 

WYSC will be forming AAU Basketball teams in
the spring. Tryouts will be held Mid-February.

Lacrosse All Year!
Spring 2020 Recreational Lacrosse –
Registration is now open! Come join the
fun in the Spring of 2020! WYSC will be
hosting it’s first ever recreational lacrosse
tournament at the Athey Fields on April
20th. Practices are tentatively set to start
the first week of March, depending if the
weather permits.

WYSC Winter Lacrosse Clinics –
We’re adding a session to accommodate
the growth! Each session will be $40 per
child. If you have a younger child, please
contact [email protected] to discuss.

Boys Session 1 – Nov 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th
• 6–10 age bracket 5:30pm–6:30pm
• 1–15 age bracket 6:50pm–7:30pm

Year-round Lacrosse Registration –
One Registration, you select what you
want to register your child for and your
done. No more having to come back
and register for multiple programs. We
are even working on a means to accept
payments, so you do not have to pay
all at once. Stay tuned for updates and
more exciting news from the Largest
Youth Sports Organization in Fauquier,
where your child always comes first!
