ec Soccer Winter Futsal

We will be running a 2020-2021 Winter Futsal
Program starting in January 2021. The futsal
program is for any players interested, rec/travel,
seasoned/new. Individuals wanting to join will
be assigned to a team as well as be given a
shirt, and matching socks. Teams who register
as a whole team will provide their own uniform.
This is an opportunity to pass around and
compete during the winter days. We encourage
and attempt to accommodate players/teams
registering as a group. WYSC will form teams
U10 –U14 for our winter futsal program.

Out of an abundance of caution, and our limited
seating space, we will only be allowing one
spectator per player inside the gym during
Futsal games. Temperature checks will be
done for all players and, spectators & coaches
entering the gym.

Winter Academy Training

WYSC’s Academy Training Program is a travel-
readiness program for players participating in
the Under-8 or Under-10 division that show
enthusiasm and possess a genuine connection
to soccer. These ages are fundamentally
important in soccer development, this is where
essential building blocks are built and stood-up
in young athletes. The academy program targets
technical skills development for each player
as well as introducing the spatial-component
of the game. Blending these two disciplines
in age appropriate progressive drills provides
a foundation for young players to grow and
advance successfully.

Sessions will be held on Monday U8 5:15-6:15
and U10 6:30-7:30 starting in January. The
program will run 8 weeks and will include a
training shirt. Players will have the option of once
a week or twice a week training. Cost is $85 for
once a week training or $125 for twice a week
training. All training sessions will be coached by
our Director of Coaching Sergio Guzman.

WYSC’s soccer program provides our talented youth players with travel team. Players who are born in
an opportunity to play soccer year-round at a competitive level. Players 2010-2011 who are interested in trying
in the travel program are challenged among their peers with ample out can contact team coaches add

Travel tryouts are assessment opportunities used by WYSC’s
professional coaching staff to identify players to be invited to join
WYSC’s travel teams. Players are asked to complete the mandatory
online registration, and are encouraged to attend all tryouts for their
age group.

WYSC will be holding 2 tryouts on Nov. 17th and Nov. 19th from
6-7:30pm for our U11 Mustangs Girls soccer team. Tryouts will be at
the Highland Field at Athey Sports Complex in Warrenton, Va. Tryouts
are open to girls born in 2010-2011. 

David Smith has been coaching with WYSC since fall 2002.  Dave
has coached Recreational U6-Boys and Girls, U8 Boys and Girls,
U10 Boys and Girls, U12 Boys and Girls, and U14 Boys. Having won
6 championships in divisional play, additionally Dave has coached 3
WYSC Tournament all star teams, U10 Boys, U12 Boys and U12 Girls
each achieving runner up in championship games.

Travel Volleyball
Registration is Open Now!

We will be having tryouts at our WYSC gym for players who are interested.  This is for players who want
to continue their growth while knowledge of working hard and having fun in the process. 
* Tryout dates for U13-U14 will be November 5th and 6th from 6-8pm at our WYSC gym.
* Tryout dates for U15 will be November 9-10th from 6-8pm at our WYSC gym. 
* Tryouts are only open to players, no spectators allowed in the gym, players will be temperature checked
before allowed entry the gym.  Safety is of the utmost importance to WYSC and its members.  Thank you
for your cooperation.

Players should be born between July 2005 – June 2008

WYSC is unsure if we will be able to run
our winter basketball program due to
Covid. Registration is open but we will
NOT accept payment at this time until we
know if we can have a season and what it
will look like. If we have a limited amount
of gym space we will take players in order
that they have registered.

Basketball

The WYSC basketball program will register
close to 600 players, ages 5 to High School.
To provide playing opportunities for all
registered players, WYSC will need to
form close to 60 teams. Each team will
need a volunteer parent coach. Your child
needs your help as a coach. Please consider
coaching your child’s team. To volunteer
as a coach, please go to our home page
and click “Register Online” and then select
the “Basketball - Winter 2019 - Coach’s
Registration”.

WYSC’s winter basketball registration is open, at this time
WYSC will not accept payment until we are sure we will be
able to have a season. Players will be placed on teams in
order of registration.

Lacrosse All Year! Lacrosse

Spring 2020 Recreational Lacrosse –
Registration is now open! Come join the fun in
the Spring of 2020! WYSC will be hosting it’s
first ever recreational lacrosse tournament at
the Athey Fields on April 20th. Practices are
tentatively set to start the first week of March,
depending if the weather permits.

WYSC Winter Lacrosse Clinics –
We’re adding a session to accommodate the
growth! Each session will be $40 per child. If you
have a younger child, please contact LAX@wysc.
org to discuss.

Year-round Lacrosse Registration –
One Registration, you select what you want to
register your child for and your done. No more
having to come back and register for multiple
programs. We are even working on a means
to accept payments, so you do not have to pay
all at once. Stay tuned for updates and more
