Their purpose was to identify seven crucial spheres of society that profoundly impact human behavior and culture, considering them strategic battlegrounds for Christianity’s influence and transformation. The 7 Mountain Mandate suggests that society is shaped and influenced by seven key
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 2 mountains: Religion, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts and Entertainment, and Business. These mountains hold immense power to shape collective values, beliefs, and behaviors. Proponents of this concept, like me, argue that Christians must actively engage and have a strong impact in each of these spheres to effectively spread the Gospel and promote traditional biblical values. RELIGION At the core of human beliefs and morals, the mountain of religion holds great significance as it encompasses religious institutions and teachings, anchoring the moral compass of individuals and communities. As Christians, our imperative is to be the guiding light of truth, teaching the Bible—God's inspired Word, His love letter to us. We understand that the influence of this mountain is essential in shaping the collective values, beliefs, and behaviors of society.
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 3 FAMILY Regarded as the cornerstone of society, the family mountain significantly influences personal values and shapes the direction of future generations. Christians seek to impact this sphere by fostering strong family values and promoting God-honoring households. EDUCATION Education holds a profound influence on young minds, shaping the worldview of the next generation. Recognizing the significance of this mountain, Christians actively engage with educational institutions to promote faith-based education and instill biblical values in the hearts of students. GOVERNMENT The mountain of government wields the power to enact laws and policies that govern society. Christians who seek influence in this sphere aspire to have representatives who uphold biblical principles in governance and prioritize the common good for all citizens.
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 4 MEDIA The media mountain plays a critical role in shaping public opinion and cultural narratives. Christians focusing on this sphere aim to create faith-based content and counter narratives that conflict with their beliefs, fostering a more positive and impactful cultural influence. ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT The arts and entertainment industry significantly shape culture and influence society’s collective mindset. Christians seeking influence in this mountain aspire to produce faith-based content and promote values that resonate with biblical principles. BUSINESS The business mountain holds considerable economic and social sway. Christians focusing on this sphere strive to integrate their faith into their business practices, advocating for ethical principles and serving the needs of others.
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 5 Supporters of the 7 Mountain Mandate draw on certain Bible verses, such as Genesis 1:26, where God grants humans dominion over the earth, 2 Corinthians 5:17-19, highlighting Christians’ role in reconciling society, and Revelation 17:9, mentioning the whore of Babylon on seven mountains, to lend biblical weight to the concept. However, critics caution against interpreting these verses out of context or using the phrase “7 Mountains of Influence” itself, as it does not directly appear in the Bible. As with any theological concept, the 7 Mountain Mandate has sparked debates and controversies within Christian circles. Some critics express concerns about potential associations with Dominionism and Christian nationalism. Dominionism and Christian nationalism advocate for Christians to exert control over societal institutions, raising questions about the potential risks of imposing religious beliefs on others and undermining the religious freedom of non-Christians.
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 6 In the following chapters, we will delve into the concept of lay ministry and explore what it means to be a light of God within our current workplaces and spheres of influence. Embracing the idea of being a “light” or ambassador of God’s love and values in everyday spaces, we will recognize that our impact on society begins right where we are—in our families, workplaces, educational institutions, and communities. This notion of lay ministry reminds us that each of us has a unique role in God’s greater plan for the world. As we embark on this journey, we will uncover the beauty and significance of individual callings and discover how we can make a lasting difference in our immediate surroundings through faithful presence, service, and love. Join us in exploring the diverse ways God invites us to occupy specific mountain tops, bringing light and hope to the world around us. Through personal stories, practical insights, and a deep exploration of God’s
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 7 heart for each sphere, we will discern the mountain top to which God calls each of us. As we embrace the call to conquer and occupy the mountains of influence, we will find ourselves fulfilling our divine purposes and becoming agents of transformative change for the glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

9 C H A P T ER 2 - A N S W E R I NG G O D ’ S C A L L : E m b r a c i n g Y o u r D i v i n e A s s i g n m e n t In this transformative chapter, we embark on a profound journey of discovering God’s specific call for our lives, drawing inspiration from the timeless words of Charles Haddon Spurgeon. As we delve deeper into the question that echoes in every believer’s heart - What is God calling you to do? - let us find wisdom, guidance, and renewed purpose in the insights of this great preacher. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19- 20) reminds us of our divine mandate. Jesus implores us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 1 0 have commanded you.” This commission is not reserved for a select few; it is a divine invitation extended to every follower of Christ. As messengers of the Gospel, we are called to spread God’s love and truth to those around us, reaching far beyond the confines of our immediate circles. Spurgeon’s sermon “Messengers Wanted” resonates with this call to action. He proclaims, “The word of this salvation avails not until it is declared in the ear; it must be published, or men cannot hear it; and not hearing, they cannot believe; and not believing, they cannot be saved.” Indeed, answering God’s call involves proclaiming the message of salvation and allowing others to hear, believe, and be saved. We are commissioned to be ambassadors of hope and reconciliation, extending God’s invitation of grace and redemption to the world. God has uniquely designed each of us with a purpose and gifts, as affirmed in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 1 1 prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” In the pursuit of God’s call, we must take time to reflect on our passions, talents, and opportunities. Spurgeon emphasizes this truth: “The person wanted is viewed from two points. He has a character bearing two aspects. The person wanted has a divine side... Then he has a human aspect... Here is a man, nothing more than a man of human instincts, but clad through divine grace with superhuman, even with divine authority.” Embracing our divine purpose with humility and grace, we find fulfillment and joy as we walk in God’s ordained path for our lives. As we discern God’s call, we must also be attentive to our burdens. Jesus offers a comforting invitation in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest... For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” When we walk in God’s will, His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. Spurgeon highlights the importance of differentiating between burdens that align with God’s calling and those imposed by
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 1 2 others or our own desires. He urges us to seek the burden that comes from God alone, as he proclaims, “God’s call may vary for each individual... we are called upon to follow God’s guidance, taking up the burden that He has specifically prepared for us.” To answer God’s call, we must begin by seeking His guidance in prayer. Abide with Him and seek His will and direction for our lives. This process requires patience and listening for His still, small voice. Spurgeon beautifully captures the essence of this truth when he exclaims, “We willingly choose Christ because he has from of old chosen us.” In our seeking, we find the assurance that God has chosen us for a divine purpose, and in response, we choose to follow Him wholeheartedly. Additionally, we must examine our passions and gifts, recognizing that God has equipped us uniquely to fulfill His purpose. Spurgeon’s sermon underscores this principle, “Beloved, what a mercy is it to us who are believers that to us this is no more a
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 1 3 question; for sovereignty has pitched upon us and eternal mercy, not for anything good in us, but simply because God would have it so, has selected us that we may bring forth fruit unto his name.” As we embark on this journey, wise counsel becomes invaluable. Seeking advice from trusted mentors, pastors, or fellow believers can provide insight and encouragement as we discern God’s call. Spurgeon echoes the significance of seeking counsel as he proclaims, “I lift up an earnest cry in God’s name for consecrated men and women... to be an ambassador for me? Nor must we forget our tender Redeemer. He is not here, for he is risen.” Answering God’s call often involves stepping out in faith. It may lead us beyond our comfort zone, but God equips those He calls, and His grace is sufficient for every task He sets before us. Embracing His leading with courage and conviction, we find the strength to take each step. Spurgeon encourages us with these words, “Answering God’s call is not
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 1 4 always easy, but it is through faith that we find the courage to step out and fulfill His divine purpose for our lives.” In conclusion, answering God’s call is a continuous journey of seeking and surrendering to His will. As we respond to His call with a resounding “Here am I; send me,” we embrace our divine purpose, discern His burden, and step out in faith. This chapter serves as an invitation to embark on the path to the mountain top to which God is calling each one of us. May we find fulfillment and joy in fulfilling His unique call on our lives. Let us remember the encouraging words of Spurgeon, “The workers for the living God are a people chosen by the Most High... we must trust in God’s sovereignty and respond faithfully to His call.” As we journey towards our respective mountain tops, let His grace and guidance lead us on this beautiful journey of fulfilling His divine purpose for our lives.

Answering God’s call involves more than a passive response; it requires us to be messengers of the Gospel, allowing others to hear, believe, and be saved. The Seven Mountains of Influence - Religion, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment, and Business - remind us that the Church, the Ekklesia, is an unstoppable force called to occupy each mountain with the message of the Gospel,
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 1 6 leaving no sphere untouched by God’s love and truth. Which Mountain Top are you being called to occupy? Some may find themselves on the mountain of religion, shepherding God’s people with love and wisdom. Others may be called to the mountain of Family, nurturing strong foundations of faith and love. Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment, and Business - these are all mountains where God’s influence is desperately needed. Embracing our divine purposes, we become part of an enduring legacy, a powerful movement spreading the Gospel to every corner of the earth. Let us be known for our love, unity, and unwavering commitment to God’s divine calling, radiating His truth and love to the world. PREPARING FOR BATTLE As we delve deeper into the call to conquer our mountain top for God’s glory, we must recognize that the task at hand is not without
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 1 7 its challenges. We are not simply strolling up a hill; we are engaging in spiritual warfare to reclaim these mountains from the grasp of the enemy. Just as the Israelites had to possess the Promised Land by driving out the inhabitants, we must prepare ourselves for the battle ahead. Satan, the prince of this world, has taken his stand on these mountains, sowing seeds of deception, division, and darkness. To overcome these spiritual forces and occupy the mountain tops for God's Kingdom, we must formulate a strategy. This strategy starts with arming ourselves with the truth of God’s Word and relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. THE BATTLE PLAN In the next chapter, we will formulate a comprehensive battle plan that draws inspiration from Scripture and the teachings of faithful men and women who have gone before us. Our battle plan will include:
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 1 8 1. Prayer and Fasting: Seeking God's guidance and strength through prayer and fasting, we will align our hearts with His will and draw closer to Him. 2. Spiritual Armor: Equipping ourselves with the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18, to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 3. Biblical Wisdom: Gaining insights from the wisdom of Scripture, we will discern the enemy's tactics and respond with the truth of God’s Word. 4. Unity and Community: Standing together as the body of Christ, united in purpose and love, we will support and encourage one another on this journey. 5. Cultural Engagement: Engaging with our culture in a winsome and compassionate manner, we will bring the light of the Gospel to every sphere of influence.
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 1 9 THE STRATEGY Our strategy will be grounded in the truth that God is with us and for us. With His guidance, we will be fearless in the face of opposition, knowing that nothing can stand against the purposes of God. As we prepare for battle, let us be mindful that our weapons are not carnal, but spiritual and mighty through God. We will wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and the power of prayer to break down strongholds and set the captives free. Together, we will overcome every obstacle and reclaim the mountain tops for God’s glory. Each step we take is a declaration of our faith and trust in Him who has called us to this great task. CONCLUSION As we conclude this chapter, let the call to action resound loudly in our hearts. The time is now to prepare for battle, to put on the armor, and to stand firm in God’s strength.
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 2 0 With the Holy Spirit as our guide and the Word of God as our weapon, we will march forward, occupying the mountain tops with unwavering faith and relentless love. As we fulfill our divine callings, may we leave an indelible mark on society, bringing light, hope, and transformation wherever we go. The world awaits the impact of a Church fully committed to occupying every mountain top for the glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With hearts set ablaze for His cause, we rise to the challenge, equipped with unwavering faith and relentless love, knowing that nothing can stand against the purposes of God. In the next chapter, we will detail the battle plan and strategy to conquer these mountains and fulfill God’s divine calling. Together, hand in hand, let us watch as God’s Kingdom is established on earth as it is in heaven. As the Ekklesia, let us be known for our love, our unity, and our unwavering commitment to God’s divine calling. May His
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 2 1 truth and love radiate from each one of us, compelling hearts to turn towards Him. Let us press on, fueled by the power of the Holy Spirit, and leave an indelible mark on society as we embrace our divine callings and prepare to conquer our mountain tops for the glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Now, standing at the threshold of our respective mountain tops, we must embrace the challenge to conquer and occupy them for God’s glory. PREPARE FOR THE BATTLE At the heart of our calling lies an unwavering confidence in God’s sovereignty.
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 2 4 With the assurance that God is for us, nothing and no one can stand against us (Romans 8:31). This divine truth is the bedrock of our faith as we step into our mountain tops, knowing that the Creator of the universe is with us every step of the way. With God by our side, we need not fear the challenges or opposition that may come our way. WE ARE AT WAR As we conquer our mountain and occupy the mountain top, we must recognize that we are engaged in a spiritual battle. But take heart, for this is a battle that our God has already won. Just as the angelic forces outnumbered and overpowered the enemy in the battle described by Spurgeon, we too have a heavenly army fighting on our behalf. CONQUERING WITH LOVE AND UNITY The call to occupy all mountains of influence is not one of domination but of service. As the Church, the Ekklesia, we are called to be salt and light in the world, illuminating the darkness and preserving the
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 2 5 goodness of God’s truth. By occupying these mountains, we establish God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Each mountain becomes a platform for God’s redemptive work, transforming societies and communities from within. Love is the mark of the true believer. As we conquer our mountain and occupy the mountain top, we must reflect Christ’s love in all our interactions. It is love that compels us to reach out to the brokenhearted, the marginalized, and the lost. It is love that unites us as the Ekklesia, working together in purpose and action to fulfill God’s divine calling. Unity is the bedrock of our effectiveness as we occupy these mountains. The Church, united in heart and mind, becomes a powerful force for change. When we set aside our differences and focus on our common mission, we become a formidable army, advancing God’s Kingdom with unwavering determination.
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 2 6 EMPOWERING OTHERS FOR THE BATTLE As we conquer our mountain and occupy the mountain top, we must not forget our responsibility to empower others to rise to their callings. This empowerment begins with prayer, interceding for others to discover and embrace their unique purpose in God’s Kingdom. We must be fervent in praying for God to raise up leaders and influencers in every sphere of influence. Support and affirmation play a crucial role in nurturing the calling of others. When we come alongside individuals, encouraging and affirming their giftings, we create an environment where callings can flourish. Building a community of believers who advance God’s Kingdom together is essential in equipping and strengthening one another for the task ahead. A PRIVILEGE AND AN HONOR Our calling is not just a duty; it is a privilege. We have the honor of partnering with the Creator of the universe in His redemptive
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 2 7 work. This realization fills us with gratitude and awe, for God has entrusted us with the task of carrying the torch of truth and compassion into a hurting world. As we conquer our mountain and occupy the mountain top, we impact lives with the message of salvation and hope. Each life transformed is a testament to the power of the Gospel. We become agents of change, messengers of peace, and beacons of light in a world seeking meaning and purpose. THE VICTORY IS HIS In the pursuit of conquering our mountain and occupying the mountain top, we will undoubtedly face opposition and challenges. But like the advancing Kingdom of God, we stand strong against the gates of hell. We press forward with courage, knowing that God’s goodness and purposes will prevail. Trusting in God’s sovereignty and provision, we overcome any obstacles that come our way. The road may be difficult, but with every step, we draw closer to fulfilling
D a v i d B r a d d o c k 2 8 God’s divine calling for our lives and the Church as a whole. A POWERFUL TESTIMONY In conclusion, we reaffirm our commitment to conquer and occupy every mountain top for God’s glory. With unwavering confidence in God’s sovereignty, we spread the transformative power of the Gospel to all nations, establishing God’s Kingdom on earth. We become a Church known for love, unity, and commitment, empowering others to rise to their callings. Embracing the privilege of partnering in God’s redemptive work, we carry the torch of truth and compassion to impact lives with the message of salvation and hope. With courage and determination, we press forward, trusting that God’s goodness and purposes will prevail. WE HAVE THE VICTORY Together, as the Ekklesia, we stand strong, united in purpose, fulfilling God’s divine
D i v i n e C a l l i n g s 2 9 calling to conquer and occupy every mountain top for His glory. May this enduring legacy be a powerful testimony to the transformative power of a Church committed to God’s redemptive work in the world. As we answer God’s call with courage and love, we leave an indelible mark on society, bringing light, hope, and transformation to every sphere of influence we occupy.

3 7 A Christian Classic from Jesus 168 L3C “Explanation of the Picture: The Broad and The Narrow Way” by Charlotte Reihlen In 1862, Mrs. Charlotte Reihlen experienced a divine dream, vividly depicting
3 8 God’s revelation in Matthew 7:13-14. Although not a painter herself, she enlisted the help of Herr Schacher to bring this profound vision to life. The result is a mesmerizing artwork that speaks to the soul with its profound symbolism and timeless teachings. Matthew 7:13-14 KJV says, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Gain a deeper understanding of these verses by reading Mrs. Charlotte Reihlen’s “Explanation of The Broad and The Narrow Way.” This book unlocks key Biblical truths, divinely inspired by The Holy Spirit. With the use of two columns of text, she illustrates the contrasting paths — the wide gate symbolizing worldly allure leading to destruction and the narrow gate signifying the path to eternal life with Jesus — a journey
3 9 requiring faith and courage, but one that leads to eternal life. “Explanation of The Broad and The Narrow Way” offers a divine encounter, shifting perspectives, igniting faith, and guiding souls toward righteousness and truth. Witness the transformative power of God’s Word shining brightly on every page. This painting and book will impact your life as much as it has impacted ours.

4 3 Modern Christian Writers from Jesus 168 L3C “The Narrow Road Life: Jesus’ Relentless Pursuit to Bring a Gay Man Back to Him” By David Braddock Embark on a transformative journey of faith with “The Narrow Road Life” by David Braddock, a profound exploration of the Christian walk and the transformative power of God’s Word. David Braddock’s testimony,
4 4 hailed by Pastor Rob Rotola of Word of Life Church in Wichita, Kansas, as one of the most remarkable he has ever witnessed in over three decades as a pastor, sets the stage for a captivating and inspiring read. “The Narrow Road Life” was authored by Mr. Braddock and details his years-long struggle to reconcile his Christian faith with his identity as a gay man. He found himself selectively seeking pastors whose teachings aligned with his desires. However, when he finally read the Bible for himself, he encountered the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. This profound experience compelled him to wholeheartedly embrace a Narrow Road Life, rather than adhering to the distorted LGBTQ+ worldview that had long influenced his perspective. As he made a profound shift toward a Biblical worldview, he confronted the daunting but ultimately liberating decision to prioritize obedience to God over his own desires. Mr. Braddock wrote this book with three specific audiences in mind:
