Headwall FAQs:

Do headwall accessories work on any manufacturer’s headwall?
They do not. Headwall accessory compatibility is determined by the medical gas connections,
or key style. The most common connections are featured below.

What is the suggested height to mount a headwall?
Headwalls should be mounted 55 to 60 inches above the finished floor.

What is the difference between a wall-mounted and a recessed headwall?
Wall-mounted headwalls are secured directly to the wall, similar to how a picture
frame would be hung. Recessed headwalls are most commonly used for new
construction and are placed inside the wall with a frame around the unit.

What is the difference between a functional and a non-functional headwall?
Non-functional headwalls do not operate. They are simply used as a prop to provide students
with a visual representation of a headwall. Functional headwalls simulate the flow of oxygen
and air, and also provide actual suction by connecting to an internal or external compressor.

What is a mobile headwall?
Mobile headwalls are mounted on a stand with casters and can be moved easily
to different areas of the simulation lab. All mobile headwalls are functional.

What is the headwall limited warranty?
Headwalls include a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Can a functional headwall with compressor be powered by a standard 120v outlet?
The headwalls can plug into any standard outlet.

What is the difference between a private and a semi-private headwall?
A semi-private headwall includes doubled accessories: (2) Vacuum regulators, medical air, oxygen,
and Vacuum bottle slides, compared to a private headwall, which includes one of each connection.

Do you offer custom headwalls, and what options are available?

Do you offer piped headwalls to connect to a central compressor system?
Please consult your territory manager for additional information on piped options.

Will you work with my contractor on custom configurations and compressor options?
Please have the contractor contact your territory manager for additional information.

Do headwalls include accessories (regulators, flowmeters, canister slides)?
All headwalls include the accessories with your initial purchase, with the exception of
the mobile vertical headwall item (PN SKU# 04-71-1845).

Will one external compressor operate multiple headwalls?
One compressor will operate two (2) headwalls installed next to each other.
