wins one in arow?

:• Schenley, naturally. The triumphant whisky. Makes victory taste even
better. Takes the sting out of defeat. Mixes great, too. With everything and

everybody. So smooth, it's welcome all the time. Now that the game's over,

pick up a bottle of Schenley and celebrate. One winner deserves another.

Schenley...always in the center of things.

Right from training camp it was evident that young Frank had the stuff. -Jn7 L 11Jint fiw1/Jy ty
"I'd have to say that Frank is probably the best defenseman in NHL for
his age," says Seal general manager Frank Selke. But he quickly adds that he s1 mo e

"Frank ~as really developed quickly. He's quick, has a fairly good shot and

makes a pretty nifty pass. Not only that, he has pretty admirable poise. There's
no question that he's going to be a great one some day."

The rapid development rate is, perhaps, the most important thing about
Lacombe. He had limited experience when he came to Oakland. He played
only as a fifth defense for the Junior Canadiens and really didn't get too much

• ice time. Despite that, he stepped in., determined that he could play in the NHL.
: That kind of self-confidence has made it possible for him to make it, and to stay

as a valuable asset.
Since he is just a first yeM p:rofessional, the Seals will not have to protect

him when the draft comes around in June and that makes him even more valu-
able. Because instead! of having one player to freeze, the Seals can protect two.

Since the Seals aoquired defensive veteran Dick Mattiussi from Pittsburgh,
Frank has been working as filth b1ueliner. In so far this season, Frank ,had scored
twice and had 12 assists through March 9.

A lex Delvecchio

He's sometimes called "The Gray
Fox," and it's an apt description of the
37-year-old Detroit Red Wing pivot.
His graying hair belies the grace and
style which typifies his flowing action.
Last year, although playing for a club
which finished last, Delvecchio finished
with 22 goals and 48 assists and ranked
eighth in the NHL scoring race. The
rebuilding Red Wings hope "The Gray
Fox" will impart some of his experi-
ence to his younger mates as the Wings
attempt to shake the East Division
cellar.
