MISKA THE WOLF SPIDER(Arcane Forge)5E MISKA’S LAIR Miska the Wolf Spider’s lair occupies a dark and structurally incomprehensible cave system coated in a thick blanket of fibrous webbing, known as the Void Nest. Here’s the laws of gravity no longer apply, and winding pathways descend into ever darkening depths; all the while each footstep vibrates uncountable threads of silk, all leading to Miska’s throne of fear. Here, Miska delights in sewing new paths for captured mortals to explore, tempting them constantly with glimmers of the hope of their escape and feeding off of their terror. Miska’s lair is a dark and confusing place, filled with spiders and the howls of packs of wolves; without the gift of darkvision, mortals are left to wander, hearing the scuttling of insect-like feet and snorts of bloodthirsty predators always too close to find any rest. Lair Actions: On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Miska the Wolf Spider can take a lair action to cause one of the following effects; it can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:


MISKA THE WOLF SPIDER(Arcane Forge)5E - Miska calls forth a legion of demonic spiders to rise from the ground or descend from the ceiling. These spiders attack one creature that Miska can see within 60 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC23 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 27 (6D8) piercing damage and is restrained by a coating of webbing. A creature can use an action to cut the webs it's self or an ally can do so if they can reach, ending the restrained condition. - Until the next initiative count 20, all Arachnids within the lair gain the Pack Tactics special rule, granting them advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of the creature’s allies is within 5 feet of the enemy and the ally isn’t incapacitated. All Wolves within the lair gain the Spider Climb feature; allowing them to climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings without needing to make an ability check. - Miska casts the Web spell, centered on every creature of its choice in the lair. It needn’t see each one, but they must be aware that an individual is in the lair to target that creature. Regional Effects: The region containing Miska the Wolf Spider’s lair is warped by their magic, creating one or more of the following effects. - The area within 6 miles of the lair becomes overpopulated with arachnids, wolves and other pack animals. - Arachnids within 1 mile of the lair, become far more hostile and violent, but more social, choosing to hunt in large packs rather than individually. - All trees and caves within 1 mile become thick and sticky with a blanket of webbing. - If a humanoid spends 1 hour within 1 mile of the lair, that creature must succeed on a DC23 Wisdom saving throw or descend into a madness determined by the Madness of Miska the Wolf Spider table. A creature that succeeds on this saving throw can’t be affected by this regional effect again for 24 hours. If Miska dies, these effects fade over the course of 1D10 days.


MISKA THE WOLF SPIDER(Arcane Forge)5E MADNESS OF MISKA THE WOLF SPIDER If a creature goes mad in Miska’s lair or within line of sight of the demon lord, roll on the Madness of Miska the Wolf Spider table to determine the nature of the madness, which is a character flaw that lasts until cured. See the Dungeon Master’s Guide for more on madness. Madness of Miska the Wolf Spider: D100 Flaw (lasts until cured) 01-20 “Daylight offends me. I need to stay in complete darkness to feel safe.” 21-40 “I only have an appetite for live, wriggling meat. Furthermore, I need to liquify the insides and drink them raw!” 41-60 “Anything with fewer than eight limbs is an abomination, even myself! I will only let them touch me as food!” 61-80 “The only way I can be happy is if I can have more limbs. I must collect more and attach them to me somehow!” 81-00 “My skin is infested with spider eggs. They constantly scratch and itch, wriggling under my flesh! MISKA THE WOLF SPIDER(Arcane Forge)5E Damage Immunities: Poison; Bludgeoning, Piercing and Slashing damage that is nonmagical Condition Immunities: Charmed, Exhaustion, Frightened, Poisoned Senses: Truesight 120ft, Passive Perception 29 Languages: All, Telepathy 120ft Challenge: 26 (90,000XP) Innate Spellcasting: Miska the Wolf Spider’s spellcasting ability is Charisma (Spell save DC 23). Miska can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: At Will: Darkness, Detect Magic, Insect Plague (Spiders) (7th level aka 6D10), Invisibility, Web 3/day each: Dispel Magic, Fear, Telekinesis, Wall of Thorns 1/day each: Abi-Dalzim’s Horrid Wilting Legendary Resistance (3/Day): If Miska the Wolf Spider fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead. Magic Resistance: Miska has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. Magic Weapons: Miska the Wolf Spider’s weapon attacks are magical. Spider Climb: Miska the Wolf Spider can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. Web Sense: While in contact with a web, Miska knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web. Web Walker: Miska ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing. ACTIONS Multiattack: Miska the Wolf Spider makes four Claw attacks. Bite: Melee Weapon Attack +17 to hit. Reach 5ft. One target. Hit 22 (3D8+9) Piercing damage. The target must succeed on a DC23 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned. While poisoned in this way, the target can’t regain hit points, and it takes 21 (6D6) poison damage at the start of each of its turns. The poisoned target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on its-self on a success.


MISKA THE WOLF SPIDER(Arcane Forge)5E Claw: Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit. Reach 10ft. One Target. Hit: 22 (3D8+9) piercing damage. If the attack hits, Miska can cause a claw attack to create an additional effect of their choice or at random (each effect can inly be used once per multiattack): 1) The attack deals an additional 10 (3D6) poison damage. 2) The target must succeed on a DC 23 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed until the start of Miska’s next turn. 3) The target must succeed on a DC 23 Wisdom Saving throw or be affected by the Confusion spell until the start of Miska’s next turn. 4) The target must succeed on a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or be affected by the Fear spell until the start of Miska’s next turn. Web Coffin: Ranged Weapon Attack: +13 to hit. 20/60ft. One target. Hit 22 (3D8+9) acid damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature it must succeed on a DC23 Dexterity saving throw or become encased in sticky, acidic webbing. An encased creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the coffin of web and it takes 21 (6D6) acid damage at the start of each of Miska’s turns. If the coffin takes 30 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside or outside of it, or if the creature repeats their saving throw (can substitute Strength at this stage to break free), the entombed victim can free themselves. LEGENDARY ACTIONS Miska the Wolf Spider can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Miska regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn. Sting: Miska the Wolf Spider makes one Claw attack Terror: Any creature hostile to Miska the Wolf Spider within 20 feet of it must make a DC23 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is frightened until the start of its next turn. Web Graveyard (Costs 3): Miska makes a Web Coffin attack against each creature within 10 feet of it.
