COACH OSTROOT
HEAD COACH

Years in Cross Country: 19
What he enjoys most about Cross Country: The atmosphere and the people; I feel our
sport has the best athletes and parents.
Goals this season: Help everyone to enjoy our sport and to push themselves and improve
throughout the year. To realize that hard work always pays off and to carry that with
them always.
Favorite Cross Country Memory: Wow, so many from my 13 years of coaching. From
nice sunny fall home meets, to the awesome spectacle of the Mega Meet. But my recent
favorite memory is experiencing the boys team winning the Conference Title last season.
If I found a time machine, where I would go and why: Back to spend time with my
grandmother and grandfather because they taught me so much about life. I didn’t realize
it at the time, so I would like to go back in time and let them know how much I appreciate
them.
If I could have any job, it would be: I really enjoy coaching and teaching at the Primary
School, but I guess it would be carpentry because I enjoy woodworking and building things.
If I were stranded on a deserted island, I would bring: My wife Jackie because we all
need someone to grow old with…and I’m growing old!

SPECIAL THANKS: To all of the parents coming out
to all the meets and supporting our growing cross

encouragement you give while running. Please use
this booklet to identify members of our team and
feel free to call them by name as they run by.

Another thank you to our wonderful and extremely
dedicated coaches! Thank you for making the team
the best they can be.

Go Tigers!
