Our History The School of Business and Communication Arts (BCA), formerly the School of Management and Information Sciences (MIS), was established as the 12th school of the University of Phayao. The school was founded on June 20, 1995, in the expansion from Naresuan University to Phayao province as part of the School of Liberal Arts, Naresuan University Phayao Information Technology campus. Subsequently, on March 28, 2004, Naresuan University ordered (No. 040/2546) Phayao Information Technology Campus to be separated to form a group of management science and information science. The school then changed its name to the School of Management Science and Information Science on October 1, 2004. Later, Naresuan University Phayao Information Technology Campus changed its name to Naresuan University, Phayao, on July 21, 2007. The university changed its name to Phayao University on July 17, 2010, and the school changed its name to the School of Management Science and Information Sciences on October 1, 2010. Then, on September 20, 2020, according to the Phayao University Council meeting (No. 6/2020), the school changed its name to the "School of Business and Communication Arts."


Emblem The school has created the logo as the symbol that helps create identity, memory and communicate as much as possible. The logo has a design concept derived from the analogy of a merchant ship, which signifies the business management identity sailing to the destination in unison. On the top of the merchant ship, a bird symbolizes the essence of communication science. The bird signifies the communication agent both within and outside the organization. Another meaning of the school's emblem is independent thinking coupled with the foresight to strive for success. Moreover, our school promotes equality and unity, driving the organization towards excellence. The program also tries to drive innovation and promote the creation of new knowledge to stimulate the management of the organization and personnel to have the potential to create works that can meet the needs of consumers. Such objectives include increasing the organization's efficiency for the business to survive. The program is the first discipline in management that has been open at the university for more than 20 years. Importance and Objectives of the Program The science of finance and investment is essential to everyone. Therefore, the program aims to equip students with knowledge and ability in finance. Such taught knowledge can be used as a science as part of a career in private sector agencies, government agencies, and private businesses. At present, the financial labor market demands people with financial professional licenses. The program, therefore, develops a curriculum in finance and investment to be consistent with the curriculum used in the financial professional certification examination, for example, investment adviser, investment planner, investment analyst, and life and non-life insurance agents. The School of Business and Communication Arts Facilities The school currently offers 4 laboratories for students as follows: Accounting operating room Established in the form of a coffee shop to generate real-life experiences, as well as encourage students to use their free time to generate income while studying. The main objective of this laboratory is to be an integrated learning center as a case study in the accounting system course, internal audit course, internal control, and accounting subjects, etc.

It is a laboratory for teaching and practicing communication arts skills. The operating room is divided into small spaces to control media production, such as a live/programming room, recording room, editing room, photography room, etc.


The School of Business and Communication Arts Facilities Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) laboratory Funded by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), it is a laboratory for finding information on SET, providing in-depth details on securities trading. It is the place where students can practice the Market Microstructure Research project, which is a collaboration between the School of Business and Communication Arts and the SET to support the production of research on Market Microstructure and Development of the Thai Capital Markets, as well as capital market data used in the study of undergraduate and graduate students, such as the MaruayLibrary, SETSMART, which is an investment tool used to analyze multi data and asset classes with fundamentals equivalent to professional analysts sent directly from the SET.
