Multiple-tier Timelines

Multiple-tier timelines use two or more rows of events.
While each row represents a different subject, the time
period is the same.

Multiple-tier timelines can be used to help us look at
cause and effect relationships or patterns and themes
among events in a specific period of time.

We will be using a multi-tier timeline to show the rise
and fall of four early civilizations in the Americas: The
Mississippian, Inca, Maya, and Aztec and look for
RELATIONSHIPS between the dates.

The
Mississippians

In this unit we learned about the
mississippians culture and what they
did every day. One of the things that
they did was make pottery and use
wood for prints on clay. Another
thing that they did was worship the
chief and sun and snake gods. They
worshiped the chief so much that
they committed ritual suicide to be
with the king in afterlife. The
mississippians were called the
mound builders because they made
large mounds such as serpent
mound. Everyone has a job like
farmer or craftsman.
