Descriptive

When  you  play  basketball  you  play  with  a
ball.  The  ball  is  orange  with  a  black  cross
through  the  middle.  On  either  side  of  the
vertical  black  line  is  a  black  curved  line  that
looks  like  switched  parenthesis.  The  court  you
play  on  is  in  the  shape  of  a  rectangle.  There  is  a
line  through  the  middle  of  the  court.  There  is
also  a  curved  line  circling  the  basket  5  feet  3
inches away from the basket.

Sequence

To  shoot  a  ball  first  you  need  to  find  a  spot
to  shoot  it  from.  Then  you  hold  the ball  in  a  form
that  is  comfortable  for  you.  Next,  you  raise  the
ball  so  it  is  level  with  your shoulders. Then  you
jump  up  and  push  the  ball  forward.  After  that, as
it  is  soaring  through  the  air  you  run  under  the
net. Lastly, you get the rebound and do it again.

Compare/Contrast

Basketball  and  football  are  similar  and
different  in  many  ways.  Both  of  them  use  balls.
Also,  both  of  them are  team  sports.  In both sports,
you  have to pass the ball. In basketball, the ball
is  round  but  in  football,  the  ball  looks  like  a
pointed  oval.  In  basketball  5  people  in  the  team
are  on  the  court.  In  football,  there  are  11 people
in one team out on the field.

Cause/Effect

When  a  basketball  game  starts  they  do  jump
ball.  This  led  to  a  team  getting  the  ball.  A  team
getting  the  ball  causes  them  to dribble the ball.
When  they  dribble they walk then stop. When they
stop  dribbling  then  they  shoot.  When  they  shoot,
it  causes  the  ball  goes  in the  hoop.  When the  ball
goes  in  the  hoop  they  score  and  it's  the  other
team's ball.

Problem/Solution

One  problem  you  might  have  is  what  to  do  if
you  dribble  the  ball  and  then  pick  it  up.  The
solution  is  simple,  you  pass  it to your teammates
so  they  can  dribble  it.  Another  problem  might  be
what  to  do  if  your  opponent  shoots  the  ball  and
hits  the  backboard  and  misses  and  then  you  get
the  ball.  The  solution  would  be  to  pass  it  to the
ballhandler  on  your  team.  Then  the  ballhandler
will  dribble  the  ball.  Those  are  some  of  the
problems you might have in basketball.
