BIOGRAPHY
Nurul Amiyra Binti Mohd Hamidi is my name. I am a
girl who was born in PPUM,Kuala Lumpur on 14
Ferbuary 2005,as a first daughter of 3 children.
My father name is Mohd Hamidi Bin Mad Raby and
my mother name is Marzita Binti Sabrun.
Short story about my education,I graduated in
PASTI As-syakirin Taman Semenyih Impian from
2009-2011and continue my studies for primary
school in SK Ulu Semenyih. During high school,
I went to MRSM Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan since
2018 but this year I moved to SMK Engku Husain due
to personal problem.
Talking about education, the word book suddenly
appear on my mind. I’m passionate about reading.
Although I have several hobbies, such as watching
movie, listen to music and dancing , reading books is
what resonates well with me. There are many
reasons why I love reading. Most of my ‘me-time’ is
actually spent on reading. This is how I get my energy
back.
HOBBY
Hobbies make us feel rejuvenated and satisfied, even
when our lives are going through some disappointing
phase. While others have been able to harness the
power of their hobbies and converted them to money
making ventures, many of us are just contented with
the joy and satisfaction we derive from them.
Listening to music has always been my go to activity
for all occasions. My love for music can be traced
back to when I was a child. There are recorded videos
of me as a child becoming hyperactive whenever
music was played. I would run to the stereo, turn on
the music to full volume and start running around
dancing. Anyone who dared touch the sound system
would face my wrath. Music was the only thing that
could calm me down whenever I feel so bad.
Whenever I feel depressed, I listen to sad songs. They
guide me and keep me company during those trying
moments. The beauty of music is that it can be
incorporated with other hobbies. For instance, I love
reading a good book, as nice orchestra music is
playing in the background. I always do that thing.
AMBITION
Only having ambition is not enough. A person should
work hard to achieve his or her ambition. My
ambition is to become a doctor.
A doctor is always at the service of suffering people.
The smiling face of a doctor makes the patient
cheerful. If I become a doctor I will be kind to the
poor and the needy people. We as a human want a
healthiness.
When I will become a doctor I will open my own clinic
in a village where there is the shortage of doctors and
help the people and give them medicines and
treatment and I will try to give these things in less
charge as they could be able to get their treatment
easily. I really hope to become a success and kind
hearted doctor.

BOOK REVIEW 1
TITLE: A WRINKLE IN TIME
AUTHOR: MADELEINE L’ENGLE
PUBLISHER: ARIEL BOOKS
YEAR OF PUBLICATION: 1962
A Wrinkle in Time is a young adult novel written by American author Madeleine
L'Engle. First published in 1962,the book has won the Newbery Medal,
the Sequoyah Book Award, the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award, and was runner-up for
the Hans Christian Andersen Award. The main characters Meg Murry, Charles
Wallace Murry, and Calvin O'Keefe embark on a journey through space and time,
from galaxy to galaxy, as they endeavor to save the Murrys' father and the
world. The novel offers a glimpse into the war between light and darkness, and
good and evil, as the young characters mature into adolescents on their
journey. The novel wrestles with questions of spirituality and purpose, as the
characters are often thrown into conflicts of love, divinity, and goodness. It
is the first book in L'Engle's Time Quintet, which follows the Murrys and
Calvin O'Keefe.
SYNOPSIS
In A WRINKLE IN TIME, Meg's father, an eminent physicist, has been missing for
two years. One night a strange old woman, Mrs. Whatsit, appears, "blown off
course" while she, along with Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which, was tessering, or
taking a shortcut through time and space. They take Meg, her little brother
Charles Wallace, and their new friend Calvin, to rescue Dr. Murry, who is a
prisoner on a planet ruled by IT, a giant pulsating brain that controls the
minds of everyone on the planet. Charles Wallace also falls under IT's
control, and when Meg finds her father, she discovers that he is not the
invincible protector she thought he was. She must not only come to terms with
this realization, but find a way to rescue them both.
PROS AND CONS
Those who like action and adventure enjoy its science fiction story, filled
with strange creatures and Meg's showdown with IT. Preteens of both sexes can
relate to the coming-of-age theme, with a hint of romance, and commentary on
the value of individuality over conformity. And kids who aren't terribly
popular enjoy watching an outcast become a hero, and doing so by finding that
her faults are also her strengths. Grown scientists who read A Wrinkle in
Time as a child recall it as being the first book that encouraged openness to
imaginative speculation, the root of all scientific inquiry and creativity.
Parents who want to expose their children to women and girls who are
passionate about math and science would do well to slip their child a copy of
this book. Not only do Meg and her mother fit this particular bill, but Meg is
also the one who wages the battle between good and evil. But,In 1990, a parent
at Tenth Street Elementary School in Anniston, Alabama requested the book be
removed because it “sends a mixed signal to children about good and evil”.
BOOK REVIEW 2
TITLE: CORALINE
AUTHOR: NEIL GAIMAN
PUBLISHER: BLOOMSBURY PUBLISHING
YEAR OF PUBLICATION: 2002
Coraline is a dark fantasy children's novella by British author
Neil Gaiman, published in 2002 by Bloomsbury and Harper Collins.
It was awarded the 2003 Hugo Award for Best Novella, the 2003
Nebula Award for Best Novella, and the 2002 Bram Stoker Award for
Best Work for Young Readers. The Guardian ranked Coraline #82 in
its list of 100 Best Books of the 21st Century. Gaiman started
writing Coraline in 1990. The titular character's name came from a
typo in "Caroline". According to Gaiman, "I had typed the name
Caroline, and it came out wrong. I looked at the word Coraline,
and knew it was someone's name. I wanted to know what happened to
her."
SYNOPSIS
In Coraline's new house, she discovers a door that sometimes opens
onto a brick wall and sometimes doesn't. Venturing through, she
discovers a world that mirrors her own, though the mirror is
disturbingly distorted. There's more fun and better food, but her
parents and neighbors are reflected with troubling differences.
Returning to her own home, Coraline finds that her real parents
are missing, only appearing in the hallway mirror. With the help
of a cat that can talk in the mirror world, Coraline returns to
rescue her parents as well as the souls of other children that she
finds imprisoned in the world through the door from the fiendish
“Other Mother”.
PROS AND CONS
Gaiman is well known in the world of adult literature, but this is
his first book for children, and it's a strange, surrealistic tale
,fun for kids who like their stories creepy. The black and white
illustrations by Dave McKean are correspondingly sinister. Not
everything will make sense to young readers, nor will they find
the emotional heart that marks children's classics but they will
find Coraline to be a brave character who uses her smarts to not
only save herself, but also others the Other Mother trapped. Plus,
the plot rolls along fairly unpredictably and with a few good
scares. Ultimately, not awe-inspiring, but entertaining enough.
However, some children still don’t like this book because they
feel too scared if it really happens.
BOOK REVIEW 3
TITLE: HANSEL AND GRETEL
AUTHOR: BROTHERS GRIMM
PUBLISHER: GRIMM’S FAIRY TALES
YEAR OF PUBLICATION: 1812
Hansel and Grettel, or Little Brother and Little Sister is a German fairy tale
collected by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812 in Grimm's Fairy Tales. Hansel
and Gretel are a brother and sister abandoned in a forest, where they fall into the
hands of a witch who lives in a house made of gingerbread, cake, and pastries. The
cannibalistic witch intends to fatten the children before eventually eating them, but
Gretel outwits the witch and kills her. The two children then escape with their lives
and return home with the witch's treasure.
SYNOPSIS
This book is about a boy named Hansel and a Girl named Gretel, who lived with their
father and stepmother in a cottage in the woods. When food got scarce, stepmother got
angry and decided to get rid of the kids. She decided to leave the kids in the woods.
The kids found their way back the first time but the second time they were doomed.
The kids set out to find food and walk upon a witches home made of cookies, candy,
sugar and cake. The witch fed them and decided she would eat them.
PROS AND CONS
The folk tale Hansel and Gretel is a peasant tale of Germanic origin that the
Brothers Grimm wrote for middle-class readers of the 19th century. Their folk tales
reflected the European worldview and some of the cultural norms of that period. It is
likely that the original tale described the hardships of medieval life. Famine, war
and plagues were commonplace during the Middle Ages. Abandoning children in the woods
to die or leaving them to fend for themselves was not unknown during the Late Middle
Ages. The tale likely stems from historical instances of abandonment caused by
famine. The children are starving when they discover the gingerbread house. The forest
is "the Wald" that German rural society depended upon. Farmers grazed their pigs
there, royals hunted deer, and woodcutters selected beams for half-timbered barns and
houses. However, the forest was not regarded as a safe place. In the time of the
Brothers Grimm, it contained outlaws, illegal hunters and wolves. Huge gnarly oak
trees added to the threatening qualities of the forest. In Hansel and Gretel, the
mother and father turn on the children when economic hardship hits and there is no
food to feed them. This family breakdown causes problems in the story; only by
sticking together can the children persevere.Ultimately, wealth brings this family
back together. The children were reunited with their father and "they lived together
in utmost joy" only after Gretel and Hansel brought back the old woman’s pearls and
jewels. The oven in the fairy tale may also be symbolic of relegating persons to the
fires of hell for their sins, which would have been a widespread belief at the time
of this folk tale. The story is also about how people can survive oppression with
pride and a sense of their own dignity. In a sense it is a survival story to give
young people a sense of hope.
