plan in 1995 prior to student teaching. The BOPPPS lesson is geared towards the college
setting and takes additional thought as well as time to complete. I have always written
down questions to ask students within class. By writing down the questions, I
intentionally include higher order questions for students’ responses. When it came to the
use of technology within BOPPPS lesson, it took thought due to utilizing multiple
technology ideas in prior classes already and even the First Year Experience course.
Technology was added to BOPPPS lesson based on smart cellular devices which was not
part of any prior lessons. As a Site Technology Contact Person (STCP), I was helping
teachers at the elementary school to incorporate technology in their classes and lessons.
Therefore, my exposure to technology is extensive. All of the details shared in the ACP
program made me more efficient as an instructor.

For further professional development opportunities, one hour courses could be
offered to adjunct professors prior to the start of the semester and during the semester.
Many adjunct professors are limited on available time. The following courses can benefit
adjunct professors:

• Communication within the Course Management System
• Assessments within the Course Management System
• Top 10 Interactive Lesson Ideas
• Top 20 Teaching Methods
The hour sessions are short but thoroughly cover content for a college course. The staff
development catalog is full of courses, so it takes time to explore the whole catalog. A
section dedicated to adjunct professors can help with locating class sessions more
quickly. Professional development sessions are a great time to meet other professors on

campus and gain essential knowledge to help with college lesson planning. Some
departments are rather large thus the sessions enable some professors from each of the
departments to learn within the same room. Consequently, the ACP program was like
taking a graduate level course with exposure to a hybrid class design. We did some of our
time in a classroom and the other part of the time online.
