What Are Hereditary Traits?

Have you ever heard someone say that...
"Oh, this child looks like
her father."

"You've got your mom's eyes."

"Your hair is wavy just

like your mother's." "You have the same

stubbornness as your father's."

All the physical or trait equation of a parent to a child are due to
genetic factors. Maybe you're still a little confused, what is genetic?

Genetics is the study of hereditary traits. The
hereditary traits occur between parents to their
children. It also occurs because of the genes and
chromosomes that are in male sperm cells and female
egg cells.

So it's the genes and chromosomes that carry
information about the physical and trait of the person
so that if the genes and chromosomes are combined
and become a zygote, the physical and trait of the
zygote will match the genes and chromosomes of its
parents.

What Is Mendel's Law?

So after we find out what Gregor Johann Mendel
hereditary traits are, we have to find
out what Mendel's law is. Mendel's law 2
is a law regarding the hereditary
traits of the organism described by
Gregor Johann Mendel. This law
consists of two parts, namely the Law
of Segregation and the Law of
Independent Assortment. So to say it
shortly, this law is provisions
regarding hereditary traits so that the
children or offspring produced by
their parents could be found using
this law.

One example of a disease caused
by pollution in the air environment
is asthma. Asthma is a hereditary
disease and it can also affect the
genes and chromosomes of those
affected. So it is likely that the
offspring of someone who has
asthma will also get asthma.

As well as other diseases caused by
air pollution such as wet lungs, Acute
Respiratory Infections (ARI),
bronchopneumonia, and heart
attacks. It is not passed down
directly like asthma, but when the
parent got it, it would indirectly
change their genes and chromosomes,
so that their offspring would be more
susceptible to respiratory disease.

To avoid various diseases caused by air pollution, we must
maintain our surroundings by planting trees or plants around
our homes. We should also start to reduce the occasional use of

this, the air quality around our house is getting
better and better. During the pandemic, we are able
to experience fresh air that we had never felt before.

appreciate, nurture, and manage wisely what God has created.
So, we should take good care of our environment. A clean
environment will certainly make the air fresher and better.
