'Loka' is a word borrowed from Sanskrit
लोक (loká) which means 'world'. Since
olden days, the Malay language has
derived and adopted many languages
into it's own and Sanskrit is believed to

be the root of the language.

Concept of loka

Shadow puppet/ 'wayang kulit' has long existed in
countries across the world. Each country possesses a
background and styles of shadow puppets unique
to themselves. Malaysia was one of said countries.
However, our traditional shadow puppet is
becoming extinct. Therefore, to bring it back, we
modernised shadow puppet with bright colours and

combine it with a paper-cut style.

Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah for the strengths and His
blessings. On this date, under our Loka by Bold 2020 exhibition,
the Faculty of Art & Design proudly present our future designers,
leaders, explorers and innovators beyond the future of art and
design in Malaysia. The year 2020 is felt by many to be a

significant turning point.
This generation of graduates need to be truly experimental in
order to push new boundaries of contemporary aesthetics. The
challenges that lay ahead are extremely volatile &
unpredictable but I stand confident that our graduates are

willing to strive to overstep boundaries.
Graduates, the life after graduation won’t be a smooth ride,
however, I am confident that your creative skills and
knowledge you would have the option to overcome anything
that you put your heart into. I bid you all the best of luck in your

future creative conquests; big or small.

First and foremost I would like to congratulate the students of Graphic
Design (AD241) who have completed their study in the program through
the exposition of “Loka by Bold”. From my understanding, this group is
recognized as the 13th generation of Bold which traditionally act as a
medium which students contribute their thoughts and effort in the field of
graphic design in Malaysia. The conception of “Loka by Bold” is the
convergence between local expressions with a touch of contemporary
graphic aesthetics that spawns a unique identity, blended through and
along four specialization that is studied by the students. The ‘sui generis’ of
this is without a doubt exceptionally displayed through their artwork. And

with that I would like to say congrats.
With regards to this opportunity, I am also excited to see the skills and
mastery of all the student that will soon graduate, and together stimulate
the graphic design industry that is always challenging, sophisticated, and
expanding in going through the 21st century. The challenge that is
grounded upon the digital revolution encourages us to be creative,
critical and committed which ensures the development of quality
graduates from the faculty that is already known to have impacted the

local landscape of art and design.
Finally, I would like to congratulate again to all of the students and hope
that this success is manifested and is aligned with the desire to
continuously learn, be it as a student, as an alumnus of Uitm or as members

of society.

able to organize this graphic design exhibition. This semester, it is

known as Loka by Bold 2020.
First of all, I would like to congratulate our Graphic Design
lecturers and graduates for successfully putting this exhibition

together.
Today, this exhibition shall showcase the results of our students'
hard work through great effort and countless of sleepless nights.
To our graduates whom will soon join the creative industry in the
future, I would like to wish them all the best. The future might
seem too uncertain, but I believe that our graduates have been

geared up by our highly skilled educators.

It’s an organic bar soap specially designed for
those who experience severe skin conditions like
eczema or skin cancer and those who are health
conscious and concerned. This product is designed
to increase the use of bar soap in Malaysia with
the use of environmentally friendly packaging and
reduce the number of patients with skin disease.
The ingredients are natural and suitable for all types
of skin. Olive is the main organic in the soap.

Sleepless Night

@iyliadian Insomnia, also known as sleeplessness, is a sleep
disorder in which people have trouble sleeping.
Behance: My project is to help students who have trouble
iyliasyiqin sleeping at night and have problems living daily life
during the day. We all know that students often stay
up late at night because they are busy completing
assignments. Some of them also practice unhealthy
lifestyles and diet due to lack of time. In this
project, I designed a guideline book for students
as a reference to the problem they are facing. The
book comes with essential oils that are great for
mindfulness and stress reduction. The essential oils
that I use for the project are the most suitable scent
for bedtime.

artist. Besides, the research will be put emphasis on
the context behind “ Keringkam ” itself.

Project Orangutan is to give awareness to the young
generation, by producing an interactive comic
book “Wira Rimba”. This comic book is about three
young boys that fight against antagonists who tries
to destroy Orangutan living habitat. This interactive
comic book will help children to understand and
learn about the orangutan species and also they
can do exercises inside the comic book as well.

influence of artistic, cultural, and lifestyle factors.
The introduction of Melanau’s traditional foods
can make its presence felt in a crowd and sell
the product in the markets. Moreover, with the
prominence of rebranding, the packaging is often
the living embodiment of a Melanau food culture’s
values and personality.

aim is to spread awareness and needs to be done
to decrease the amount of help in the fight against
cyberbullying. Therefore this should be emphasis
more on awareness to end the cyberbullying
by held an event “Combating Cyberbully” in
Malaysia. During the event, the visitors will going to
experience the journey where the audience going
to have many interaction booth that will give them
a bit of info for themselves regarding the cyberbully.

Malaysia is rated the eighth-worst plastic waste @hidayatitam
country in the world, with an estimate of nearly
one million tons of plastic waste that has been Instagram:
mismanaged. It includes concerns on the usage @ht_ideas
of single-use plastic waste as packaging since
Malaysians still have low awareness of plastic
bags. Hence, this project based on the target of
Sustainable Development Goals by using eco-
friendly materials for vegetables. Vege Pack
is s reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable
packaging and can be implemented in Malaysia’s
high-end supermarkets as a step to save the
environment. A simple thing can make the world
a better place!

branding. Daily Platter is planned to be located

fresh and healthy ingredients. With a concept of
bright flat illustration, Daily Platter passionate in
creating visuals to ease those who want to live a
healthy life. Vending machines will be the highlight
of a unique selling point for this project. Daily Platter
connects your relationship with your friend as a
family. This shall be targeted to be home towards
a healthier culture.

culture. Because of that, the idea of making
Wayang Kulit popular again came to make sure it
would still be relevant today. Skugga is a Wayang
Kulit Kit which is an innovation of Wayang Kulit
through branding and product extension. This kit
has a night lamp with wayang kulit’s design as the
main features.

the universal experiences, like love and weeping
and laughter, common to all human beings.”

of Students in public universities. Balance for
better will be the goal by creating a branding of
an educational talk event to promote women
with access to the opportunities available without
limitations and restrictions such as in the education
sector.

project, Vaccination of Well-Being (VOW).
VOW represent promise for parents to fulfil their
responsibilities towards their children’s health.
VOW is carried out to promote a healthy life for
new-borns to be vaccinated, mainly for those in
Selangor area. Furthermore, the road tour is set
to stop the anti-vaccine movement and educate
parents on the importance of vaccines. A van
will be used to execute the road tour campaign
movement to the destinations. Additionally, there
are also so many fun activities for children to play
and gain knowledge.

was proposed. It`s a project proposed to support

Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia. This project carries
my hope for a brighter future for children with a
learning disability.

with obesity among the ASEAN countries. Obesity
is known as one of the primary causes of Non-
communicable diseases that could lead to death.
The current trend in Malaysia shows that society here
prefers to consume outside foods. Thus they might
tend to consume unhealthy foods regularly. Food
Stop is a healthy organic food store that focuses on
providing healthy outside food toward society at all
ages. It also aims to educate the community about
the importance of having healthy food, especially
when consuming outside foods.

the younger generation of P.Ramlee. It is also
to construct a new P.Ramlee profile design and
inspire the younger generation of the legendary
art by P.Ramlee. This project is a partnership with
“Tempatan Fest”.

projects that deal with homeless issue. ‘Rieaya’
word derived from an Arabic word that means
care. Rieaya Centre will provide assistance for
homeless from every race, ethnic origin, gender
and religion. The objective of Rieaya Centre is to
decrease the number of homeless people in Kuala
Lumpur and to educate these homeless people to
be independent.

In general, food waste was found to be the most
significant contributor to Malaysia’s solid waste,
and it also requires a safe landfill, which has
exceeded its full capacity. Malaysian throw away
food waste about 8,000 tons daily, and this food
can feed 8 million people, including 990 tons of
ready to eat food. By creating an organization
that is specifically managing food waste can helps
this country controlling flooded food waste by
producing compost fertilizer and commercialize to
the local agricultural industry.

our life. This is because they are naturally nutritious
and contain vitamins and minerals which can keep
your body healthy and energized. They can also
prevent illness such as high blood pressure, heart
disease, stroke, as well as contains antioxidants
that prevent cancer, and are able to improve
eyesight. Furthermore, the fibre in vegetables is
able to promote our digestive system. The veggies
fest event can be seen as the method to promote
the nutrition and benefits of vegetables.

comes with a new design to make the user easier to
apply the sunnah diet in their daily life. Shuur Sahi is
healthy food and will give many benefits to users. It
has a compact design packaging that is easier for
the user to bring anywhere. Shuur Sahi is a perfect
example of healthy food for users.

The SDG that I had chosen is SDG 11 of the
sustainable development which refers to make
cities and communities to create careers and
affordable housing, business opportunities, safe
and building resilient societies and economies. In
Malaysia, public transports have many problems as
it is not accessible to everywhere as well as it is not
punctual. The case study in this research is towards
our public transportation company, Rapid KL. This
company system was built by Prasarana Malaysia
and operates in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. This
research seeks to identify the reason why people
prefer not to use public transport in Klang, Selangor.

enhancing civic life. The overall aim of this project is
to use the experience gained as part of an actual
project at Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam to
make recommendations and provide guidance
and the means to help the user feel at ease in their
surroundings.

water, our home earth is about 71% water and
water is life. Inspired by my sister who practices a
strict recycling culture and has been reading to
her daughter at a very early age. Even though at
a digital age, books are still a relevant medium to
highlight the environmental issue. With the use of
vibrant colours, sensory activities knowing the truth
about our environment does not have to be scary.
Moreover, the goal to educate can be achieved
in a fun way.

Let’s work hand in hand together so that we can
leave them in a better place and let them continue
to shape our home.

Plastic pollution in the ocean is a major issue in
Malaysia as well as on a global scale. Scientists
predict that there will more plastic than fish (by
weight) in 2050. Ocean Clean is the name of the
plastic recycling vending machine to reduce plastic
pollution in the ocean. This vending machine also
collaborate with Adidas and Uniqlo. This is because
of both company supports plastic recycling. The
innovation of vending machine plastic recycling is
the primary item for this project.

which is a sign of lack of food security and self-
dependency are low. To fight this problem, as my
capacity as a graphic designer, the concept of
Starter kit gardening were. Which the whole idea
concept of self- sustainable when people not
heavily dependent to agriculture from rural place
or import foods. In this product the integration with
agriculture technology are intended to boost the
agriculture production for home usage to make the
access of food available to everyone.

National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) with
new logo implement with a new look and feel.
Each study focused on a different aspect of logo
development, but in the end, they all reached the
same conclusions in the results. From my study, it
can contribute to the society organizational itself.
For the organization to realize the importance
of a good logo and its impact on position in the
consumer’s mind. The impact of this research that
Malaysians will see the importance of having a
good brand image to position the consumer’s mind
and get their trust.

Some of them tend to use it every day without
knowing the ingredients. This project aims is to
increase brand awareness of a local brand, which
is Serasi Global Sdn Bhd who produced its natural
home-made products to meet the demand with
fresh, raw and safe ingredients.

According to the statistic, Terengganu recorded
4.79 million tourist arrivals in 2018. The government
of Terengganu aims at 6.5 million tourist arrivals by
2025. Gohek is a new option of promoting
Terengganu. Gohek is a service that provides
motorcycles for rental at Kuala Terengganu. Kuala
Terengganu is a small town and doesn’t have a
large or extensive bus network. To explore road at
the beach, motorcycles are the best transport that
can go anywhere even on the narrow street.

Let’s Communicate Without Boundaries is a
collaboration campaign with The Society of
Interpreters for the Deaf (S.ID) and Malaysian
Federation of the Deaf (MFD). This campaign aims
to improvise and educate people to change their
perspective about deaf people in Malaysia . This
campaign provides special needs for deaf
community. The aim of this campaign is to create
better communication without boundaries among
normal and deaf people and also to make deaf
people feel welcome by normal people into
Malaysian society.
