Defrocking the Democrats(Volume II … Jan 2017 – December 2020)… a collection of commentaries, quotes and images that combine to expose the deeper & darker truths of the Democratic Party – what it isn't (and yet purports to be), & what it actually is (but refuses to openly display or admit)via Scaughdtan (i)am publication1

“The two main parliamentary parties – the Republicans and the Democrats – are now both devoted to the same economic policies at home (socialism for the rich and unchecked capitalism for the poor) and the same foreign policy of servility to endless wars abroad. This is not a democracy. It is instead to politics what McDonald's is to food – namely, poison” ~ via John Pilger3
“There is only one party in the United States – the property Party– and that singular party has two right wings: Republican and Democrat. Republicans are stupider, more rigid, more doctrinaire in their belief in unfettered capitalism, and more openly bigoted than Democrats, who are mostly more charming, just as warmongering (shockingly), a bit more corrupt, and far more willing than Republicans to make almost imperceptible appeasements to public policy (while loudly proclaiming to be grand champions thereof) whenever the poor or the disenfranchised or the antiimperialists start to get too loud or out of hand. That said, though there does appear to be a stark delineation between these two factions, there is no substantive difference between the two.” ~ inspired by Gore Vidal4
An Introduction to what Follows…If you had told me back when I was in college (during the Reagan years) that the Democrats -- even their most “progressive” members -- would some 20 years later become a verifiable gaggle of hypocritical virtue-signalers, and thereby actually do far more harm to Americans than their more openly fascistic Republican cousins, I would have said that you were completely batshit crazy ... And yet here we are. While any objective study of the United States as a nation will reveal that it was founded by oligarchs and established primarily for the benefit of their wealthy successors, and that the United States has been essentially acting as an Empire since the days of Teddy Roosevelt, there was always at least an apparent semblance of democratic viability in the country up through the early 2000's. In essence, Americans were all told – and reasonably believed – that they had at least two options every election; that they had a limited choice, true, and yet a choice nonetheless – a choice between the rugged individualism, mostly subtly racist, and rabid trickle-down capitalism of the Republicans and the far more egalitarian & far more socially just policies of the Democrats. Of course, after the War on Terror commenced at the turn of the millennium, the Democratic Party began to increasingly expose itself as being nothing more than a sweettalking side of the same capitalistic coin – nothing more than a tool of Empire in faux-caring, tattered clothing. Bill Clinton's policies in the late 90's (policies that openly pandered to corporate power and allowed the evils of neoliberalism to come into their own) and the Democratic machinations that followed (from Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton in the mid-2010's, to the reign of Joe Biden thereafter, to the vapid suck-uppery of all the Democratic members of the nation's current Congress) have now made it all too clear that the Democratic Party is no longer a viable alternative for any American interested in implementing the higher values of justice for all, international peace &/or economic equality. 5
It is true that Republicans politicians (with but very few exceptions) and their neoconservative ideology are barbaric, vile, and cold-hearted, and that the same must be actively opposed by any and all who are interested in the higher values that found any civilized society. That said, their Democratic counterparts and the neoliberalism that founds their more azure dogma are just that -- counterparts; just as corrupt, just as war-hungry, just as unjust, and just as non-compassionate. Essentially, it simply must now become clear as well – if we are ever to come together and get ourselves out of this mess – that the Democratic Party is just as corrupt and in many ways just as wicked as the Republican one, and therefore just as unworthy of our support. And so this volume of essays & illustrations came into being, with the intent of awakening you all to the aforementioned truths, and inspiring in as many of you as possible the realization that the salvation of the American society no longer resides in the voting booth; that the Democratic Party is no longer an option that will ever bring any substantively functional results; that the solution to the oligarchic fascism that is even now throttling the life out of your Constitution andall the good it once embodied is NOT to vote Blue No Matter Who until Republicanism isdefeated, but rather to stop voting altogether – to come together in each of our communitiesinstead; to wake up each day and go forth intent on Becoming the Caring Change ourselves thatDemocratic politicians have hollowly – and quitedisingenuously – promised us to be. Amen … Let it be so. Scaughdt (January 2026)“The U.S. has been Red & Blue since 1869, and where has it gotten you? Let me tell you – You have no paid maternity leave, no subsidized childcare, no universal healthcare, no livablewages, and no free or even viable education. There is actually nothing 'great' about Americanat all. You Americans think you have freedom of choice? You don't. As long as the Red & Blue reign over you, you the people are always going to come in dead last – dead last in life expectancy amongst English speaking countries, dead last in incarcerated citizens per capita, dead last in believers in an afterlife, dead last in gun ownership per capita, dead last in mass shootings, dead last in school shootings, dead last in both infant & premature adult death, dead last in health care costs per capita, dead last in maternal deaths among industrialized nations, dead last in wars caused, dead last in innocents murdered abroad, and dead last in democratically elected foreign governments overthrown.” ~ the Fuddhist6
