Hours of Operation Walk-in Wednesdays

Monday-Thursday 8am -7 pm For fast help with resume and cover letter
Friday 8 am-4:30 pm questions, interview tips, job search,
Saturday - By Appt Only choosing a major, and online resources.

Starting Wednesdays during the Fall
Semester between 10 am and 12 pm at

Services Offered

● Inquire into different career options and assist in choosing a major and/or
program

● Research local employers
● Help to find jobs and internships
● Assistance in preparing for a job interview
● Aid in creating a Linkedin profile

Events Information

● Transfer Fairs

○ For students interested in transferring. Four-year college representatives will be available to
answer questions.

○ Upcoming - July 18, 10am-1pm, in the Student Life Building (CASE, in lobby)

● Job Connection Days

○ An excellent chance to meet with area employers.
○ In the College Center from 11am-1pm during the Fall Semester (please inquire with Career

Services for exact dates).

● LSC-Cyfair Library Workshops

○ Resume makeover, Interview skills, Intro to LinkedIn, and Job search strategies
○ Located at the CyFair Library on the Lone Star Campus (please inquire at the library for

times and dates).

Recommendations

● It is best to make an appointment and the appointment will be approximately 1
hour long. Summer is their slowest time.

● For a resume review appointment, please bring hard copy of resume and any
job postings you found.

● For a career exploration appointment, please bring your Do What You Are
assessment results.

● The #1 suggestion for students who are undecided on their major is to “talk to
people doing their jobs that you think might interest you and follow up with
internet research on different careers.”

● The #1 suggest for students who are starting their career search is “to build a
network of people who can guide and advise you on your career journey. Start a
LinkedIn Profile and connecting with people in your field while still a student is an
excellent way to start.”
