historical address was home to a graceful retail
arcade, and among the tenants was a book
store.

Berthold Delikatessen

Berthold Delikatessen is a tribute to our founder, Berthold
Kempinski. Before they became hoteliers, Berthold and
his wife, Helene, started with a very tiny deli in Berlin in
the late 1800s.
Berthold Delikatessen is directly inspired by Mr
Kempinski’s original shop in Berlin. It has kept its German
accent and is spelt with a “K”. Its symbol is an iconic red
moustache, a nod to our founder.
Today, Berthold Delikatessen serves authentic and fresh
food, bite-size luxury treats, to go or enjoy at the counter
Berthold Delikatessen offers homemade German breads,
pastries, sandwiches and seasonal specialities. It has a
reputation for great coffee.

Freida restaurant & bar

Frieda restaurant & bar is the continuation of the culinary
revolution which father Berthold initiated.
Uniquely Kempinski, Frieda restaurant & bar celebrates
our gastronomical origins by paying homage to a very
important figure in our history: Frieda Kempinski, the only
daughter of Berthold and Helene.
Frieda grew up in the entrepreneurial, warm and
welcoming environment of her parents’ delicatessen and
wine store, embracing its spirit of generosity and
hospitality.
Today, Frieda restaurant & bar is inspired by the warm
and cosy atmosphere of a traditional German restaurant,
yet modern and with fine details and style.
