LESSON 1: LEARNING RESOURCE MAPS FOR DISTANCE
LEARNING

This lesson will give you the map of learning resources needed for the implementation
of the different Distance Learning (DL) subcategories.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
1. assess the LR needs and concerns in your School
2. discuss and reflect on these needs and concerns
3. gather possible solutions to resolve these LR needs and concerns

Key Topics/Concepts
distance learning; learning resources, LR maps, subcategories of DL

Resources Required
Learning Resources (LR) Map

Activity 1
LEARNING RESOURCE MAPS FOR DISTANCE LEARNING

1.Based on the map, what resources should you have in order to implement the LDM adopt-
ed by your School/Division?

RESPSCI implemented the Modular Distance Learning. It is in printed form or available of-
fline/online. With the help of Local Government Unit of Pasig, by providing tablets to the stu-
dents, Self Learning Modules is downloaded in each tablet.

2.Do you have the complete resources for the Distance LDM needed in class? If the LRs are not
complete or not available, what steps will you take to make these available? What are your op-
tions to substitute these missing LRs?

Most of the resources are available. In some situations if the LR is not available textbooks,
learning materials and teacher made-video or SLM that can be use as a supplementary tools it
should be aligned with the MELCs. As well leveled with the learner’s capabilities.

3.What support will you need to maximize the use of the two DepEd-sanctioned LR Portals?
From whom can you get this support?

Using the DepEd LR portals we can easily find and use our needed SLM, However before we
can access the portal we need to have a strong internet access that most of the time students and
teachers are experiencing.
-- support from ICT Coordinator / Teachers designated as the admin of the portal

4.Based on your evaluation of the materials, are they appropriate to the level and character-
istics of learners? Are there learners who might be disadvantaged by the materials (based on
reading ability, level of learning independence, level of household support, distance)? What ad-
justments will you make in terms of the LRs?

Yes, it is appropriate to the levels and characteristics of the learners. Those students who
have a difficulty in this time of pandemic, we, teachers, provide remediation to the students who
did not achieve the learning objectives and enrichment activities to those who accomplish the
task given by the teacher

There some teachers who plans to conduct home visitation to encourage the students, with
the help of parents/ guardian and ensure that the objectives in LR is achieved.

ACTIVITY 2

In your LAC Session, share and discuss your answers from the previous activity.
What support can you provide to your colleagues and what support can you get from
them in terms of LRs? Take note of the insights that you can gather from your colleagues
and write them in your Study Notebook.

Lesson 2 :
ACCESSING LEARNING RESOURCES FROM DepEd PORTALS
Activity 1

1.Given the LDM adopted in your School, how can the two DepEd portals respond to your LR
needs and those of your learners’? How do they complement the LRs that you already have?
Answer:

In our school, we adopted the Modular Distance Learning, we obtain our learning modules
online from the Division of Pasig. The Learning resources compliment of what we already have
because long before the implementation of distance learning, our students is already engage in
(insert the program e.g. PBB?) in which the students learn at their own pace.

2. What are the challenges in accessing the LRs in the portals both for you and your learners?
How will you overcome these challenges?
Answer:

It is an on learning resources , that requiring a strong and stable connection is a challenge
line particularly to the learners who don’t have gadgets and internet at home, by asking help from
other educational stakeholders.

3. What support will you need to be able to maximize the use of the LR Portals? From whom can
you get this support?
Answer:
- To maximize the use of LR portals, we need to explore and familiarize the portal with the
help of our ICT coordinators and colleagues with knowledge in managing and navigating the De-
pEd commons and the LR portals.

ACTIVITY 2

In your next LAC Session, share and discuss your answers to the questions in Activi-
ty 1. Explore how you can help and support each other in using the LR portals. Jot down
the insights and helpful information regarding the use of the LR portals in your Study
Notebook.

LESSON 3: ASSESSING THE LR MATERIALS

ACTIVITY 1

Study the LR Rapid Assessment Tool. Download an LR from either DepEd Commons
or LRMDS Portal and assess the material using the tool. Answer the following questions
in your Study Notebook:

ACTIVITY 2

1. Based on the Assessment Tool, how does the material from a non-DepEd Portal compare with the LR
from the DepEd Portal?
Answer: No, it doesn’t meet all the requirements
2. Based on the results of the Assessment Tool, what improvements do the materials — both from De-
pEd and Non-DepEd portals — still need?
Answer: Yes, modified some parts of the learning materials to be more relevant and useful for the
learners
3. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your lesson and your
learners?
Answer: None, all the aspects are reliable and can evaluate properly

ACTIVITY 3

Choose one of the LR materials that you have developed. Assess this material using
the same tool. Answer the following questions in Your Study Notebook:
1.How does your material compare with the ones that are obtained from the online por-
tals?
Answer: The material that we created are audio-visual presentations. This materials
help encourage student’s participation and engagement in the Messenger Classroom
that makes the teaching and learning meaningful and lasting.

ACTIVITY 4

Share and discuss your answers to the questions in Activities 1, 2, and 3 in your
next LAC Session. Jot down insights and information that can be useful to you in choos-
ing the appropriate LRs. Submit your LR assessments with your reflection on the exer-
cises to your LAC Leader. Ensure that you keep a copy for yourself.

Answers:
The LAC session gave a clear insight in making our own Learning Resource Materi-
als by adapting and using the tools being provided. With this, our LR’s become more ef-
fective because of the localization in teaching.

For Module 3 – 3A our facilitator is Ms. Doreen Recto she is the one who create the power point
presentation and also she leads the member during the brainstorming of answer.

Module 3 it’s all about “DESIGNING INSTRUCTION IN THE DIFFERENT LEARNING DELIVERY MO-
DALITIES”

In this module we need to understand the different LDM’s and also we discuss the different learning styles. In
RESPSCI we implement Blended Learning wherein we can use both modular and online learning

As we go further we discuss the different modalities of learning such as face to face learning, home schooling and
now the distance learning we also discuss difference of each learning modalities their features and requirements.

In addition we also discuss if the school is capable in implanting this kind of modalities , the school should consid-
er the level of resources, level of experience and health and safety protocols especially now we are facing a pandemic.

The LCP assures that all possible measures will be taken to ensure that no child will be excluded from learning
during the COVID-19 crisis. And also we discuss each reason why some students are left behind during this crisis, as a
teacher we also give the target intervention on each reason that we discuss earlier.

In lesson 2 DESIGNING LESSONS AND ASSESSMENTS IN THE DIFFERENT LDMs we discuss the components well-
designed lesson, applicable for all LDMs it should be aligned in the MELC that we are using in our daily lesson and it
should be leveled in students learning capacity.

We also talk about formative and summative assessment tasks that can be incorporated in your lessons to provide
students with feedback and to help you monitor student’s learning even when you are teaching remotely.

As we further discuss the Module 3 3A we realize that we should consider the situations of students, and what
kind of modalities that can help them to survive their study during this pandemic.

This module was facilitated by Ms. Doreen Recto which presented by sr. Jonel Talaro and documented by Ms. Marifer
Sisineros

For module 3 3B LEARNING RESOURCES we discuss how LR portal and DepEd commons help the students to ac-
cess the SLM’s needed for their study.

We also discuss how SLM’s distribute to our learners during 1st Quarter RESPSCI had a printed module that was
distributed in each level and now in 2nd qtr. Our generous LGU headed by Mayor Vico Sotto distribute learning tablets to
the learners wherein all the adviser upload the 2nd qtr. SLM’s

We also discuss the process and how LR portal works in posting the SLM’s for the learners.

We all know accessing the LR portal needs a strong internet connection that we all know not all the students are able to
have a internet service , as a teacher we should provide a supplementary tools that we can use if the portals or internet
are not capable..

We also evaluate if the SLM’s is connected to the MELCS that we are using during this pandemic, we evaluated it
by using the rapid assessment tools , we realize that as a teacher we need to be more flexible when it comes to our re-
sources , we need to think a another way how we can reach our students during our situation right now.

This module was facilitated by Sr. Amel Ford Erno and Ms. Marifer Sisineros, which presented by

Ms. Ma . Aivhe and documented by Ms. Jenielyn Vibal.

As we end our LAC Session we evaluate ourselves, we ask ourselves how can we help our students right now? Does are
ways is enough to reach them ? these question make us realize that we need to think another way to encourage our stu-
dents to finish their study despite of this pandemic.

MODULE 5: BUILDING THE TEACHING PORTFOLIO
RELATEDTO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MODALITIES

Congratulations, Ma’am/Sir! After finishing all the Modules related to teaching
and learning in the LDMs, you are now ready to apply them as you manage the
teaching and learning process in the new delivery modalities. In this Module,
you will plan for how you will capture the evidence of your teaching practices,
which you will organize into a portfolio. This portfolio will be submitted to your
LAC Coach for evaluation at the end of the year. You may also use this portfolio
as part of your means of verification (MOVs) for your performance evaluation.
This Module intends to ensure that you continue your learning journey in the
effective implementation of the LDM in your classes as well as the content and
pedagogies associated with them.

MODULE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this module, you will be able to:
1. list down the evidence of LDM implementation
2. plan for how to make sure that you will be able to relate these evidences to your
professional practice based on the professional standards

LESSON 1: THE TEACHING PORTFOLIO AND ITS
CONTENTS

This lesson will introduce you to the Teaching Portfolio related to your use of the
LDM. By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
1. describe what a portfolio is
2. identify the contents of your teaching in the LDM Portfolio

Key Topics/Concepts

assessment; capabilities; professional practice; professional standards

Resources Required

DM2 Guide for Expected Outputs
Reading on Portfolios
List of Suggested Evidence Form
Study Notebook

ACTIVITY 1
Before you begin to prepare building your Portfolio, you need to make sure that you

have completed all the outputs for this course. Go over the list found in LDM2 Guide for Expected
Outputs and find out whether you have completed all the outputs required for Modules 1-4 of
this course.

Submit the completed outputs to your designated Coach for final evaluation. Keep a copy of
all your outputs for your own records.

ACTIVITY 2.

Study the Reading on Portfolios from the Glossary of Education Reform. Based on your
reading, reflect on the following questions and jot down your answers in your Study
Notebook:

1. How will your Portfolio help you in tracking the progress of your teaching practice in
your School's LDM?

- Portfolios are intended to evaluate learning progress and achievement in a specific course. By
completing my portfolio in LAC sessions about LDMs, I can now be ready for the challenge of the
new normal way of teaching. First, if I will make my lessons I can scan my finished portfolio and
go to the topic about preparing MELCs. Then, if I will choose what learning resources to be used
in my topic I can refer to Learning Resources topics and how to download it in DepEd portals.

• My portfolio will serve as evidence of my teaching and it will clearly show my improve-
ment as well as the problems I will meet and it will guide me to keep on the right track.

2. What evidence from the previous modules will help capture the progress of your teach-
ing practice? Answers:
- In the previous module which is module 4, I had learned about making individual devel-
opment plan. With it, I can now assess my weakness and strength in terms of my teaching prac-
tices. One of the best examples is analyzing on what domain do I need to focus more and make
a development plan for that.

From the previous modules, the following evidence will help monitor my teaching prac-

tice :

1. Unpacking of MELC

2. Learning task for DL
3. WHLP
4. ILMP

3. Why is writing down your reflections an integral part of your Portfolio?

In every work or task given, one must have a reflection. It is an integral part of our portfolio
because in the reflection area, we can pour out our ideas, analysis, comments/suggestions about
the particular task which can be a road to change or improvement.

ACTIVITY 3.

Familiarize yourself with the List of Suggested Evidence Form. Is the list of evidence enough
to capture the progress of your teaching practice? What other evidence can you think of that
is relevant to the LDM adopted by your School? Write down your answers and other insights
in your Study Notebook.

Activity 4

LAC discussion with colleagues. (Put some evidence) MOVs.

Activity 5

LESSON 2

Activity 1 1. Study the criteria and indicators found in the Evaluation Rubric. What steps will you take
to ensure that you are able to hit the criteria in the Rubric? Write down your answers and any other
thoughts about the Rubric in your Study Notebook.

• In order to be successful in making the portfolio I must consider first the Demonstration progress of
the LDM Implementation which is 30% in the rubrics. Ensuring the quality of my reflections in every
topic or lesson that I tackled. Lastly, my output will be based on the professional standard given by
DepEd.

Activity 2 1. Discuss and share your thoughts on the Rubric in your LAC Session. Present your steps to
make your outputs and Portfolio responsive to the evaluation criteria and indicators. Take note of
your colleagues' other insights as well.

In Module 5 we teacher discuss the assessment for students, professional aspect and professional standard.
This lesson will introduce you to the teaching portfolio related to your learning delivering modalities, we discuss
what is portfolio and we also identify the contents of our teaching in the LDM portfolio.
During our LAC session we discuss that we need to first to prepare building our portfolio and make sure we
completed all the output for this course.

As we further discuss we need to understand the students portfolio , A students portfolio is a compilation of aca-
demic work and other forms of educational evidence assembled for the purpose of evaluating coursework quali-
ty, learning progress, and academic achievement;
So as teacher we need to give a activity that the students can do and make it sure there is a Rubrics that the stu-
dents will follow.

It’s important to note that there are many different types of portfolios in education, and each form has its own
purpose. Some portfolios are only intended to evaluate learning progress and achievement in a specific course,
while others are maintained for the entire time a student is enrolled in a school. And some portfolios are used to
assess learning in a specific subject area.

As we end we end the LAC session we realize that we need to give a activities that can help the students to finish
their portfolio and also help them to boost their interest in learning.
