St Joseph's College Bangalore Introduction

Founded by Fathers of the French Foreign Mission, affiliated to the University of Madras as a
Second Grade College in 1882.Main building put up with enrollment of 350 students in
1925.University of Madras granted the Institution the status of a First Grade College in
1926.The French Foreign Mission transferred administration to the Jesuits in 1937.Following
reorganization of the state, College was affiliated to Mysore University in 1949. College is
granted permanent affiliation to Bangalore University in 1967.Commerce Sections and Evening
College Sections separated in 1972.Centenary Year visit by H. E. Dr. Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy,
President of India in 1982.Today, this college is regarded as one of India's premier colleges

Getting into St.Joseph College Bangalore

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME

General: Candidates who have passed the three year Bachelor’s degree examination
of Bangalore City University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto by
the Bengaluru City University, with the respective subject as
optional/major/special/main subject, are eligible for admission to the programmes
provided they have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate of all the
subjects (including English and Languages) and 50% marks in cognate subject or major
subject.
Note: SC/ ST/ Category I candidates having 5% marks less than that mentioned are also
eligible to apply.

ELIGIBILITY FOR POST GRADUATE PROGRAMS

A candidate who has passed the two-year PreUniversity Examination conducted by the
Pre-University Education Board in Karnataka or any other
examination considered equivalent by Bangalore City University shall be eligible for admission
to these
programmes.
Generally, a candidate opting for a subject should have studied that subject in the qualifying
examination. For example, a candidate selecting Physics and Mathematics as optional subjects
must
have studied these subjects in the qualifying examination. But, additional conditions of eligibility
are
required for specific subjects as follows:
a) The candidate opting for Physics should have studied Mathematics in addition to Physics at
the
qualifying examination. b) The candidate opting for Statistics should have studied that subject or
Mathematics at the qualifying examination. c) The candidate opting for Botany, Biotechnology,
Biology, Microbiology or Zoology should have studied that subject or Biology at the qualifying
examination. d) The candidate opting for Environmental Science should have studied at least
two
Science subjects at the qualifying examination e)The candidate opting for Biochemistry should
have
studied Chemistry at the qualifying examination.

Fee Structure:

The Admission Fee and Tuition Fee for the first three months are to be paid at the time of
admission. All College dues are to be cleared before the issue of Admit Card. Fees once paid
will not be refunded.

HOW TO APPLY:

Steps to apply are as follows:

● Visit the official website of St Joseph’s College Bangalore.
● Candidates should have to go to the ‘Apply Online’ section.
● Candidates will have to register by filling their details such as - Course applying for,

Candidate’s Name, province Status, D.O.B, Mobile No., email etc.
● After registration, candidates will be redirected to the payment portal to pay the

application fee. * Candidates can submit the fee using either NEFT or Debit/Credit Card
only.
● After payment is confirmed candidates will have to require Login using his/her email
address and password.
● After this,Candidates will have to enter the basic details, academics details, and Contact
information, etc. in the application form.
● Candidates will have to upload a fresh passport size photograph and other required
documents.
● Read and verify all the details which are mentioned and make changes if it is necessary.
● Click on the Submit button only if you are sure that all the details filled in are 100%
correct.

● After submitting the form, candidates should wait for a few seconds for the server to
generate the application form and Please don't press any other keys until the application
number is generated.

Documents to be uploaded:

1> Scanned copy of Class 11 or 12, if available mark sheet
2>Scanned copy of degree marks card(s) of all semesters/years for PG applicants.
3>Scanned copy of a fresh passport size colour photograph with size 10 kb - 300 kb
(Dimensions - 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) in jpg/jpeg format.

Note:

* The application fee for any UG course is Rs. 400 and for the PG course Rs. 600.
* In case of NEFT mode of payment, please note that it takes at least 24-48 hours before the
UTR number of the NEFT is approved in the college system.
