CCI STRATEGY THE CANON

CCI MAKING A PHOTOGRAPHY
DIFFERENCE FESTIVAL–
– Q4 IN FOCUS PORT STEPHENS
Staying relevant through
experiences, programs,
content and products.
CCI kicked off 2016 with a very clear strategy
and a roadmap to get there. Our focus is
simply to stay relevant to the consumer,
our partners and our people. And, at each
stage of our planning and execution, we ask
ourselves “Are we doing more for people
than they expect?” and then we make the
changes necessary to do just that.
With three quarters behind us, we’ve stayed
true to our strategy and have a lot to be
proud of but, of course, we have to keep our
momentum and convert at Christmas. The
following pages touch on the major pillars of
activity that we have in place to make sure
that CCI continues to make a real difference
to people’s lives and ultimately to achieve
our business ambitions.
I hope you enjoy reading about our programs
and I thank you for your contribution to our
success either as a direct contributor or as a
passionate advocate in support of all that we
do together.
Cheers,

WHERE
WILL YOUR
IMAGINATION
TAKE YOU?
This month we’ve launched
the latest in our Canon LAB
series of creative experiments
for enthusiast photographers.
There’s a preconception that photography is
only about capturing the real world. This is
a genuine limitation on the kinds of images
that people attempt to capture.
Canon Australia has challenged this
preconception with the latest LAB
experiment called IMAGINATION.
We asked a group of seven year olds to tell
us about something from their imagination;
whether it’s an imaginary friend, a make
believe place, an impossible contraption or
a mythical creature. A group of advanced
photographers then set out to capture a
photo of this imaginary thing that doesn’t
exist.
Imagination was brought to life.

The moving exhibition comprised of
powerful portraits of a group of handpicked
women who have both inspired Lisa and
influenced modern Australia.
First unveiled to the public at SmartArtz
Gallery in Melbourne, the exhibition then
went on display in Sydney in the forecourt
of Customs House at Circular Quay.
As one of Australia’s most beloved

was evident in this unique exhibition that
stands as testament to her desire to amplify
the strength, beauty, determination and
resilience of Australian women.

“Throughout my career as a journalist, I
have been lucky enough to meet thousands
of Australian women whose everyday lives
involve feats of incredible strength, courage
and determination,” said Lisa.
“Through this exhibition I’ve created a series
of images that, for me, represent the beauty,
strength, diversity and absolute resilience
of Australian women. I deeply admire all
of the women who were kind enough to
trust me to get behind the camera, and
of course their contribution to modern
Australia. I know that their unique stories
will speak to all Australians, no matter their
