A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM PASTOR JEFF

Greetings People of Faith,
We have all been prayerfully concerned about the growing threat of the COVID-19 virus in our nation and world. President

Trump has issued the call for all Americans to avoid gatherings of more than ten people. Brevard County has also called for
similar social distancing. For this reason, Faith Fellowship Church will be closing most public gatherings for the immediate
future.

• Our Worship will be conducted online by Live Stream technology at www.faithfellowshipweb.com/livestream
• This is also available on our FFC App and Facebook page.
• We will give you more information, but our hope is to present Worship at our regular Worship times—Saturday 6 pm

and Sunday at 9 am, and 10:45 am.
• Lifeline Young adult ministry on Tuesday is canceled.
• Youth Ministry on Sunday evening is canceled for the immediate future as is Kids’ Club and Children’s Sunday

School.
• Sunday morning, evening, and teen classes have been suspended.
• Some Bible studies and small groups are still meeting in homes. Others are using technology such at Zoom to meet

virtually online.

We do not know how long the COVID-19 threat will require the suspension of public meetings for Worship. Our hope is to
support fully the call of our national leaders to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in quick response. We should plan on the next
two weekends to be closed for public meetings. We will keep you informed. If you have a pastoral need, please call our church
office at 321-259-7200.

We hope to resume a normal schedule of services and activities very soon. Some of our seasonal programming may need to
canceled or rescheduled. We will communicate about these things. We will continue to be a people of Faith and prayer during
these times.

I look forward to seeing you online and worshiping with you in Spirit and Truth.

In the first century, the Gospel went viral. After the
events of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, His
followers remained in Jerusalem and waited. On the Day
of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was manifest among the
believers and empowered Peter to preach the Gospel to
thousands who had gathered for the feast. (Acts 2)

On that day, about three thousand were baptized as
believers in the Gospel of Jesus. Most of these were
God-fearing Jews who had come for the feast of Pentecost
from around the world. They were gathered from at least
fifteen different countries. When they left Jerusalem, they
carried this viral Gospel into those nations of the world.
And among those left in Jerusalem, "the Lord added to
their number day by day those who were being saved."

STAYING CONNECTED IN A TIME OF

I - S - O - L- A -T- I - O - N

Today looks different than it did a month ago, or even a week ago. It feels like we are living through something new
that has never happened before. However, through the ages, there have been many times just like now. The difference is we
now can adapt our level of social engagements, yet still maintain constant communication with each other around the world.
We also have cutting edge research, technology, and science abilities that are better suited to handle situations just like this.
Yes, it will be a painful process, but God has never let us down, and He isn’t about to start now. I love what Paul wrote to Tim-
othy as he sat in a Roman prison awaiting execution:

“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
Today, as we face an unprecedented situation, we need to dig down and find the courage that Paul talks about. We
need to let the faith and strength that God has given us take control so that, not only will we find the peace that we so desper-
ately need now, but that others see it and it spreads around the world. Paul tells Timothy:
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

2 Timothy 1:6 ESV
It is at times like this that we need to flame life into the gifting that he has given each of us, and bring it to life stronger
than ever before. Ironically, what we are going through today, will only be overcome by us pulling together as a community
like never before. That may sound ridiculous, since we are being told to isolate and avoid contact with one another. The kind
of coming together that we need is something that the Bible shows us clearly in Acts 2:44:
“And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and

belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.”
The common thing that we humans do at times like this is hunker down and focus on ourselves and our families.
Don’t misunderstand me, that is very important, but as Christians, we have a community that we are a part of that functions
much like a family. We need to be sure that we don’t forget about that. Our focus right now cannot be on just ourselves. What
Luke wrote about in Acts was a time when over 3,000 believers had congregated in Jerusalem. Many of them didn’t have
jobs, but they were part of a community of faith, a family of faith. The community came together, worked together, and dealt
with the situation at hand.
As we journey down this road, let’s do it together, even though we are socially separated from each other. We can still
connect through our phones, our computers, and our tablets. As a church, we will be reaching out through social media in as
many ways as possible. Please take advantage of those connection points, and share them with others who are heading toward
despair.
Just remember to look to God first, He is the source of our strength and hope. That is where we should start. Let’s
keep our community of faith strong and together. Listen to God as He tells you what your part is on this road we are traveling
down, and put action behind that call. Just remember what were are told in Philippians 4:6-7:
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds

in Christ Jesus.”
