4 | FAITH MATTERS | SPRING 2023 Peter's powerful stories and his walk with Jesus. And then students will put their faith into action serving our community during Mission Is Possible XXIII. I am also very excited that we will begin an all-new series titled "This I Believe" based on the scriptural grounding of our faith after Easter. This is another opportunity to strengthen the walls of your faith and Build Forward. SENIOR PASTOR DR. JEFF HOY THIS YEAR WE HAVE FOCUSED ON BUILDING BACK BOLDER. Our study in Ezra-Nehemiah has focused on a critical point in biblical history. God's people returned to Jerusalem with the goal of rebuilding the Temple and the city. It was an incredible and monumental effort that took 93 years! We don't want to miss that this effort was really focused on the future. The Jewish people were rebuilding things from the past, but they were doing so to find a bridge to the future. So much of the scriptural history of God's people focuses on God's plans for our future. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11) We have found ourselves in a season of rebuilding. After the pandemic, many churches never reopened. Others, like ours, have been rebuilding worship, ministries, and study groups. Things are different now. We have come a long way as we realize that the spiritual terrain is changed in this new time in which we live. I talk to people all the time that are rebuilding but also seeking that bridge to the future. We need that bridge in our individual lives, families, and church. We cannot be content with building back the things of the past. We must focus on Building Forward. This year we have focused on Building Back Bolder. Much of what you find in this newsletter is all about Building Forward. We have some fantastic opportunities in the next couple of months to strengthen your spiritual life and build forward to the future. You will find information about our Easter season of celebration. Nothing points to the future more powerfully than the Resurrection! Come celebrate Resurrection at your church. You will also find information about the one-day Live Walk Through the Bible Seminar. We are so excited to share this at Faith Fellowship Church on April 29. You don't want to miss it. This is a seminar that will rarely be available so close. Come and "connect the dots" as you learn the events of the whole Bible in one day! And it is fun! Few opportunities could strengthen the walls of your life and family like this seminar. You will also find details about Faith Fellowship Summer Camp. Camp is coming quickly with an archaeological dig at Webber College June 4-9! We will be digging into the Word of God to Discover God's Power. We are also very blessed to have registration open for Vacation Bible School 2023-- Twists and Turns. Hundreds of children will learn Building Forward If you would like to host a “Dinner for Eight” in your home, please contact Pastor Ann. GO SEE THE MOVIE! SPRING 2023 FAITH MATTERS | 5 PASTOR OF YOUTH AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION PASTOR ANN HOY of $40 per adult and $30 for teens will be available each weekend, until April 2nd, following the three weekend worship services. Then the rates go up to $50 for adults and $40 for teens until April 23. A ticket to WTB Seminar would make a great Easter Basket surprise! You may want to host out of town friends or family in your home on Friday night before WTB, so they can attend too. Be sure to get all Children pre- registered too for a great FREE FFC Kids Seminar, called, ‘The Amazing Book!’ Ms. Kristy Crowe and her team will have a fun filled day for the children, Pre-K 3 years through 5th grade, learning all about the Bible, using music, videos, Bible stories, activity stations, recreation, and games so that children will learn how special the Bible is and how it can help us, as a guide for daily living. Child care with age level activities will be available for infants through 2 year olds. Parents must sign in the children in the Fellowship Hall at 7:55AM and pick them up for the Lunch break from 11:30pm- 12:15pm. Then parents return them to the Fellowship Hall for the afternoon sessions. Part of the fun of this day will be that there will be two snack breaks and a lunch break to enjoy talking with friends and family. You may bring your own lunch or you can pre-order/pay for the option of a Chick-Fila or Subway Box Lunch, $10 each. You are also welcome to bring your own bag lunch(es), but either way, we encourage you to stay on the campus and have a picnic at the church pavilion, or at tables on the patio. Bring a quilt or lawn chairs to eat out in the shade of the buildings. We encourage all FFC people to wear your church name tags so you can get to know others and make new friends. This WTB-Live Seminar is being offered on one day, Saturday, April 29, at Faith Fellowship. Don’t think you can attend next time. It may not be offered for years to come. Take advantage of this fabulous opportunity this spring. Rearrange your schedules. Take a day off of work to attend. Have your teens miss one team sports day to open their eyes to the difference the Bible can make in their lives. So often when people come to church for one service, they get part of the story. This day provides for them to get the whole story. I believe that the impact that this one day seminar will have on individuals, families, small groups, and our whole church, and community is worth all the resources and effort it is taking to present it this year. My prayer is that you will catch the vision of the positive day WHY SHOULD YOU INVEST SATURDAY, APRIL 29, IN THE “WALK THROUGH THE BIBLE-LIVE” SEMINAR? You have an opportunity, to experience the ‘Walk Through The Bible-Live’ Seminar this spring on Saturday, April 29, from 8am- 3:30pm, right here in your own church. You don’t have to travel a far distance, with hotel expenses. While it is an Internationally Known Ministry, that helps people, all over the world, to understand The Greatest Love Letter ever written, The Bible, you are so fortunate that it is going to be presented at your church, Faith Fellowship! This one day seminar will give you an overview of both the Old and New Testaments. It helps put the pieces of the puzzle together so that people can see the complete picture of these 66 books, and grasp the big idea of the importance of the whole Bible, God’s Word, to our modern lives. Each participant will receive WTB booklets for both the Old Testament and the New Testament, as they enter the Worship Center. The WTB Seminar helps connects the dots of the first and second portions of the Bible. You may know some people who have never read the Bible and may not even own a Bible. Others may be afraid of the Bible. They feel that they do not know enough about it, or feel that they won’t be able to understand it, so they never start reading it for themselves and applying it to their lives. They miss out on all that the Bible has to offer! Pray about who you can invite (or offer to pay for,) to attend WTB with you. People don’t need to already know a lot about the Bible in order to attend this seminar. It is unique in that it is great for non believers, new believers, and for those who have been in the church a long time. It is a great foundation of faith for teens and adults of all ages, presenting big life changing ideas, and helpful for those who want to know how to present Bible concepts to others. This WTB Seminar gives insight into the major people, places, and events of the Bible and how God loves people, desires to have a personal relationship with them, and longs to adopt them into His family. The WTB Seminar helps us understand the purpose of our existence and His amazing love for us, and how He desires to help us live victorious and abundant lives, in our modern day world. Our WTB Leader is fantastic! Randy Osborn is very energetic, knowledgeable, and inspiring. He also serves as the leader of the southeast region of WTB. We are very blessed to get to have him for our day! We will learn kinesthetically, using hand motions, to remember how the parts of the Bible go in order and this will stay in our minds much longer than just rote memorization. It makes it very fun. There is little chance that anyone will fall asleep. Expect lots of smiles and laughter that day as people learn! It is a very wonderful day of learning and fellowship for adults of all ages and teens in 6th- 12th grades. Early Bird rates Walk Through the Bible Live Seminar difference this can make in your life and not miss it! I hope you will invite and insist on your friends and family attending with you. You will be so glad you did. Lots of Love, Pastor Ann, A WTB Alumni, 2 times Sat., April 29 8am-3pm

SPRING 2023 | FAITH MATTERS | 11 PASTOR PAUL W. REECE executive pastor IN A TIME OF We have been in a study, as a congregation, since last September that deals with the Jewish people returning home to find a place that, well, to say the least, needed a lot of work. This is because so much of the town was either badly damaged or destroyed. The story we have been following was one where the enemies of the Jewish people came, destroyed their homes, and exiled them. This part of our study, though, has been focused on God restoring this land to them and giving people the vision to rebuild what had been destroyed and taken away from them. Praise God that Faith Fellowship has not been through such a traumatic experience! However, many similarities in this story compare to where we are. First, there is a cost in owning, maintaining, and caring for the property and buildings that God has entrusted us with. The ownership cost comes in the form of a mortgage payment, and the maintenance cost comes in the form of wear and tear on the property due to use and age. Finally, caring comes in the form of keeping the building up to date, replacing dated items, and refreshing or renewing areas as needed. This is a never-ending process that each of us experiences in our personal lives with anything that we own. Over the next year, we are asking if you can help us financially so that we can more easily address these needs in three areas. We are calling this program REBUILD-RESTORE-RENEW. The goal is for us to focus on easing the pressure on our operating budget while rebuilding, restoring, and renewing things quicker than we have been able to. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to assist us in these areas. 70% of the funds would go toward maintaining the church's mortgage debt, and the remaining 30% would go toward our cost of maintaining and renewing the building. First, we are asking that you pray and seek what God is leading you to give toward this campaign. This would be above and beyond what you regularly give to the church as your tithe. You can give toward this in two different ways. First, we will take a special offering for the RENEW-RESTORE-REBUILD campaign on Easter Sunday. Then we ask you to make a regular weekly or monthly donation toward this campaign for the next 12 months. This way, we could fund the much-needed maintenance and renew our property as we advance in ministry. There are many areas around the property where we will focus our efforts. The main areas of needed work are our roofs, the stucco on the buildings, a fresh coat of paint on all the facilities, updating and adding lights around our property for safety and security, and keeping our areas of technology up to date. Please prayerfully seek what part God wants you to play in helping us. Ezra 3:5 After that, they presented the regular burnt offerings, the New Moon sacrifices and the sacrifices for all the appointed sacred festivals of the Lord, as well as those brought as freewill offerings to the Lord. 6 On the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, though the foundation of the Lord’s temple had not yet been laid. 7 Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and olive oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.
