I am very excited to begin a new series this fall that will
be a study in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah called
"Building Back Bolder." We will look at an amazing point in
Biblical history where God orchestrated the return of the
people to Jerusalem. He srred the hearts of leaders as
the people came home to rebuild their naon aer the
Exile. Of course, rebuilding the Temple was one of the first
things, but the process was much more than a construc-

to build toward the future with strong protecon and
cooperaon within the community of Faith.

FFC MUSIC MINISTRY

If you did not know, the Worship Arts Ministry at Faith Fellowship has been striving behind the scenes to bolster our weekend

ministry teams. Even as vacaons and other summer acvies have taken place, we have worked to create beer team relaon-

ships and community. We have included stronger planning and prayed for spirit-led worship that is meaningful for all. I am thank-

ful for team members that are willing to sacrifice and work hard each weekend to serve our local church. I am thankful for the

people who have led both children and teen musical producons over the last few months and how they have impacted the next

generaons both with God’s truth and worship.

We have more in store! In the coming months, our choir will prepare for planned weekend services and the upcoming holiday

season. The more people the beer for a choir to thrive. Please consider parcipang. It is fun and a great place to connect.

Pracce dates and mes will be announced soon.

There is always a place for you to get plugged in. We are in need of more people to assist with the technical side, as well as

play and sing from the “front side.” If you are interested in geng plugged in, please contact me at:

December holds a special place in our calendars and lives. It’s a month of busyness, fesvies and

December. Our worship arts team will prepare memorable services for us during our regular service

WINNING IN THE FOURTH QUARTER

The game of football, like other sports, consists of divisions that break up the game. In football, the game is broken into quarters.
Teams strategically posion themselves to gain as many points as possible, oen mes making the game very excing. Coaches
know that the team needs to pace itself, recognizing that each player has an important role to play. Some are beer as quarterbacks
or offensive players, while linebackers seem to have been born to play defense.
By half-me, you might think you have a good idea which team is stronger. Many mes, though, teams take the field aer the half
and gain a lot of ground in the third. Then…the fourth quarter begins. Coaches consult each other and players are assessed. Are

m players running out of steam? Is it wise to put in the second string? A new kicker maybe? Coaches know that it is oen in the fourth
quarter that des can be turned. A team that is winning handily in the third quarter can have a false start, lose stamina, or fumble
the ball. Players can lose focus and make mistakes. Yellow flags can be thrown. It’s disheartening for a team to have a great showing
in the first three quarters, only to run out of steam in the fourth, losing the game.
Winning teams don’t happen by chance. There is a fine art to establishing a great football team. Coaches conduct research and
analyze previous game plans, taccs, techniques, formaons, and strategies. They have to determine where to place each player to
make the team, as a whole, the best it can be. Players have to pracce long hours to improve stamina. Quarterbacks pracce throw-
ing, Running Backs have to be fast, with necessary blocking by the Fullback, and kickers beer be able to land the ball between the
goal posts. Many a game is determined by the success or failure of the kicker. Players who can’t keep up don’t make the cut. The
team needs players that can make it to the fourth quarter with a win. The Bible reveals that endurance is essenal in more than
just a team sport.
Hebrews 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
The goal of a football team might be to win the Conference Title, although everyone knows that the Naonal Championship would
be the ulmate reward. Just as in football, we too have an ulmate goal. We want to receive the promises that God has in store for
C H R I S Teach of us. We want to run the race set before us and prevail as champions.
Let’s not forget, though, that each of us is an important part of the winning team. We have different roles, each important to the
whole.
1 Corinthians 12:12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are
one body, so it is with Christ.
Scripture shows us that the church is much like a football team. Our Pastoral team leads us much like coaches lead the football
team. They make sure we pace ourselves throughout the game and make sure we are readily posioned exactly where we need to
be for each quarter. Just like the team members needed to play a successful game, each church member plays a vital role in the
funconing of a successful church. Our condioning could be giving our best through service, hospitality, financial support, or by
taking a role in leadership. We, as individuals, can make up a winning team.
As we move forward as a church body, let’s make sure that we are doing our part, so that we not only play as a winning team, but
TEAM UP TO CLEAN UP!that we are properly posioned as we head into the fourth quarter.
